“This is THE place to go for omelets in LG, specially if you're hungry”
Reviewed March 14, 2013

Omelets are huge in size but not as filling as one might think. Eggs are beaten with air therefore fluffy...
Delicious, really should have an omelet if you go there. You need to be prepared to wait for a table -- very popular

“Get the Eggs Alexandria”
Reviewed February 28, 2013

I was born and raised in Los Gatos, and there are so many fantastic dining options, but there is no better breakfast than Los Gatos Cafe. (By the way, the picture that is posted is NOT the cafe.)It's tucked in on the main downtown road between a couple store fronts, but if you go on the weekend, it will not be hard to find because the crowd outside will give it away. Get there early or plan on waiting a bit. They serve complimentary coffee, and it's good people watching. They pack in a crowd in a diner setting, and the service is good and fast. I don't think on the busiest day that I've had to wait longer than ten minutes for our food.

And the food! I hate to say it, but I always get the same thing now, Eggs Alexandria, a version of Eggs Benedict with artichoke hearts and asparagus added. The hollandaise is perfect, as well as the poached eggs, and the accompanying potatoes are incredible. I have two restaurants and 15 years experience in the kitchen and still can't copy those potatoes, considering getting an internship there just to learn their secret! I have tried almost everything on the menu, and their omelets are huge, fluffy, and perfectly cooked with a great variety of fillings. They have a few scrambles that are excellent as well. The fresh breads, muffins, pancakes and french toast are also delicious.

They have an affordable kids menu, and my girls always get the bunny pancake with a whipped cream tail, crispy bacon and a scrambled egg for about $5. The regular menu prices are very reasonable too, and considering how huge the portions are, you can just skip lunch.

Amazingly enough in this day and age, they don't take credit cards, so bring your cash. There is a Bank of America right across the street in case you forget.

“Best brunch I've had in a LONG time.”
Reviewed January 23, 2013

The Irish Benedict is the best. The bread that it comes on is toasty and excellent, and comes with the most tasty country potatoes. A nice touch is they provide coffee while you wait (about 10 mins on a Sunday). Cash only.

“More food than anyone needs for breakfast”
Reviewed December 30, 2012

We went to the Uptown location on Los Gatos Blvd and were blown away with the size of the portions for breakfast. Huge omelette selection and the omelettes themselves were huge as well. There is no way one person could finish an entire omletette by themself. Large selection of other breakfast items as well, so everyone in our party was able to find exactly what they wanted. Only draw back was a 25 minute wait at 9:30 AM, but the service is super quick so a party of 4 was still seated, served and on our way in about an hour even after the 25 minute wait. First time for breakfast here and will definitely be returning.

“They're the standard-bearer for breakfast and lunch”
Reviewed December 27, 2012

There are just a few places that serve up a better breakfast or lunch than Los Gatos Cafe. What makes Los Gatos Cafe special is that they've been so good for so long. The food has been consistently good for decades. The service has always been good, even though they're usually very busy. A short wait is common. And that speaks to the food. Omelets, tuna melts, and quesadillas are my personal favorites.
