We don't get to Century City too often, but this year we've made a point of eating at Craft twice. It's expensive and worth it, although the memory of the first experience may have heightened our expectations for the dining experience we had a few weeks ago when we returned. The ambiance is really wonderful with a great soundtrack of bluesy, funky music playing at just the right level, and sexy lighting. The staff is on it and ready to serve, but a bit less wonderful if you must eat your meal in the bar and not the main dining room. Eating in the main dining room is quite an experience with exceptional service. Some of the dishes are not as good as the others...and you have to wonder if the little piece of salmon was worth a $35 price tag...but as a culinary experience, it all comes together. For your first time, make reservations in advance and have a few cocktails and take your time with the meal. You want to savor the flavors and soak up the atmosphere. Make a night of it...you will feel fully satisfied if you do.

Craft brings a novel approach to preparing, serving and marketing food. The menu encourages sharing by suggesting that people pick their mains and then share the starters and sides. we also shared the delicious beignes for dessert. We were a group of five big guys and one main each plus three starters and three sides was more than enough. For a couple I would suggest only one main as my Liberty Farm duck was too large to finish.

This method is also conducive to driving revenue as the main plus sides pushes the entree cost to the magical $50 standard per person.

The menu is really interesting and the cooking is superb. The waiters are friendly and know what they are doing and one even volunteered a point about string physics that suggested a great deal of education.

The wine list meets most tastes and wallets.

The place is vibrant but you can still talk at a reasonable volume which seems to be harder to find these days.

The decor is modern but warm and the location is also visually interesting.

In sum a great meal and a great experience.

Can see why this is well rated. Had a fun business dinner. The restaurant and staff hit on all cylinders. Not inexpensive, but many nice touches, including little bag of take home granola!

close to the hotel where I stayed I've seen the name... Craft... well... I'm a big fan of Colicchio's restaurants and I've been several times in NYC on his restaurants. So I wanted to check in on this west coast branch... all expectations met... Food is great. Be careful... you may meet some Hollywood movie stars has happened to me. Of course I'll be visiting again next trip to LA.

Great food served in adequate portions using fresh groceries grown organically in the area, topped with complimentary bites. Very nice ambience. Excellent service which is commendable.

A must visit place for anyone who wants excellent American food.
