“Awesome food.”
Reviewed November 12, 2012

We ate here twice, once take-out and once dine-in. The tempura and teriyaki beef are excellent. Miso soup is one of the best I've had. The service was good and while it's not fancy it's clean and comfortable.

“Fresh and tasty meals, the happy hour beer price is a bonus!”
Reviewed August 18, 2012

We dined at Kabuki during a holiday in Hollywood. Every dish seemed to be freshly-made and had an authentic flavour. Many varieties of sushi and hand rolls, as well as barbecue and seafood. There might even be a Sapporo beer special during happy hour. We enjoyed our first meal so much that we returned the next night to try more dishes.

“Typical Japanese”
Reviewed July 18, 2012

Typical Japanese restaurant. Acceptable quality, reasonable price, very friendly. They have a large variaty of food, sushi, rolls, and others. Service is good and fast. We had fun, although Japanese food is not our first choice.

“Japan in the middle of Hollywood”
Reviewed July 8, 2012

I love this restaurant. Kabuki has excellent food. Since I don't eat fish, I can't rate this restaurant on its sushi. But, don't miss the Garlic Edamame - so delicious - for appetizers. The Soy Ramen is a meal in itself with tofu and vegetables. The atmosphere at certain times is a bit too noisy for me. I prefer a quieter restaurant, but I go for the food. The waitstaff is friendly and helpful. Be sure to sign up for a Red Mask Card. After 500 points, $25 will be loaded onto it. If you like sushi this is the place to go, since Kabuki has a wide variety, but they also have meals either carnivores, vegetarians, or vegans can enjoy immensely. There are several parking lots close to the restaurant if you drive. I take the Red Line from home (since I don't drive) and Kabuki is just a short walk from the W Hotel and Residences on Hollywood Blvd.

“Good place for a stop.”
Reviewed May 21, 2012

There are better place in Hollywood, but this place is great for a quick stop. Their fish is, and has always been in my experience, pretty good. The rolls are also good and well made. The WA Oysters are solid. Ramen noodles and their King crab miso are very good and hit the spot. Drinks are very decent. I usually pop in if I'm down Hollywood Blvd. by the W.

Worth a look but can get busy.
