“Good hotel, too far away from everything”
Reviewed October 7, 2009

I booked this through Hotwire, also 4* in the West Hollywood area. Iam a solo traveller and found this hotel to be too far away from everything. I like to be in an area which is a safe walking distance to main strip for restaurants etc. Although the Orlando had a few restaurants around it (within 10 minutes walk) I didn't feel safe walking back to the hotel after dark.
I found the rooms to be very good - huge rooms with a very comfortabel bed and I thought the bathroom was fine. Yes the lifts and the hallways are extremely dated however this didn't bother me as the room was not.
Although small, the pool was lovely and I have to say the staff were great.
Although close to the beverly centre and not too far from the outdoor shopping centre (about 10-15 minutes) I was disappointed with the location and will next time stay somewhere closer to the Strip in true West Hollywood.

We have stayed in West Hollywod a few times. We took a chance with hotwire 4 star West Hollywood/Beverly Hills. We had never heard of this hotel. For the price, this hotel was a deal. The rooms are dated and the bathroom was small. The staff was great! This hotel is 2 blocks from the Beverly Center.

we stayed at the Orlando for 3 nights at the beginning of a roadtrip. The location is superb, the staff friendly, the rooms largish. But some things could do with some improvement. The main reason, why I have only given 3 stars instead of 4 is the state of the bathrooms. They are not renovated and really outdated, it wasn't a pleasure getting ready in there. Generally, the hotel could do with an overhaul- "boutique" is maybe a little OTT, good midrange hotel would more pinpoint it. We got an amazing deal at hotwire though, so I won't complain.... Valet was incredibly expensive- 29$ a day... but I guess that's LA hotel prices....

My husband and I stayed at The Orlando for 4 nights during our stay in LA. The hotel is quaint, which is to be expected for a boutique hotel. It is in a good location, within minutes from all of the major attractions of LA. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. The valet was great, they were very friendly and quick when we requested our car. The Orlando tries to make their guests comfortable with beds that are very soft and comfortable, a complimentary newspaper delivered each morning, and cookies each night. If you stay here, make sure you eat at Joan's on Third, it's a great little market/restaurant with great food.

The only negative of the hotel was the cleanliness of the room. It appeared clean on the surface, however, the rug was a little sticky in places and it was questionable if the bathroom had received a thorough cleaning in a while.

Overall, our stay was enjoyable. If you are looking for a 5 star hotel with great ammenities this is not the hotel for you. If you are looking for a decent hotel in a good location with friendly staff, this hotel will suit you fine.

I Recently travelled around the US with friends for four weeks and stayed at another hotel in LA for 5 nights before leaving for Anaheim for 2 days and returning to LA for 2 nights before flying home and thought we would try another hotel. Big mistake, I knew from the moment we entered the hotel we would be disappointed as even the entrance doesn't look anything like their photos. The hallway towards our room was so dark due to lights not working we couldn't even see where to use our key to get into the room. The bed was as hard as a rock, carpet was sticky and the bathroom looked like it was from an old motel with a running toilet. We couldn't even bare to stay one night and end our fantastic holiday in this disappointing hotel so we made immediate arrangements to return to our previous hotel which was amazing. The best thing I can say about the hotel is it was walking distance to the Beverly Centre the perfect getaway while we figured out alternative accommodation.

we were family group of mostly adults and 2 teens. we took up a total of 24 "room nights'. the staff are actually as a amazing as other reviews, so helpful and patient. the hotel was clean, comfortable, and cozy. the beds are really nice, and have good sheets. the rooms are bigger than most hotels. the location is so good for l.a.. you can walk to a million stores and restaurants, ( for l.a this is unusual ). i cannot say a bad word about this hotel. i would definatly go back.

Our stay in the Orlando was our first time in a hotel with our 10 month old boy and the staff really took care of us and made it as easy as could be.
