A colleague recommended we stay at the Orlando hotel during a trip to work with a research collaborators at the Cedars Sinai medical center. The Orlando was being renovated during our stay and the restaurant was closed (although room service was available). Construction was evident in the hallways but was not disruptive to our stay. The rooms were nicely appointed - including a very comfortable bed, large flat panel TV and free wireless internet.
On returning from our first day we were very pleasantly surprised by a wine and cheese reception served by congenial hosts in the hotel library. The artisan cheese selection was excellent and we enjoyed the wine. I don't know if this is offered when the hotel restaurant is open, but it is was a genuine treat.
The medical center, restaurants and shopping are within easy walking distance.

I am delighted you enjoyed your stay with us.
We often hear from our guests what a “walkable” location we have and many of our guests at the hotel are here to visit or work at Cedars Sinai and find it very convenient.
Our manager’s reception from 5-6pm, Monday – Thursday will continue until our new restaurant opens in late August / early September. After that the Churchill will be offering some great Happy Hour specials in the brand new bar, restaurant and outdoor patio. Based on the tastings we have had, it is something to really look forward to.
Hope to see you again soon,

Tohnia Miller

High quality rooms and quiet. Ask for Curtis; he's awesome at front desk. Kudos for being entirely smoke-free. Valet parking guys are great. Never a wait. You can walk to everything from here. Typical hot LA chicks at the front desk. Super friendly. I will ALWAYS stay here when visiting family, who live off Melrose.

Room Tip: Ask about 'locals' special.

This hotel has a great location for shopping, with lots of popular dining /coffee cafes & restuarants just 2 minutes around the corner . We stayed 3 nights during the long w/end of 4th July celebrations 2011. Hotel has been newly renovated with modern stylish decor, staff always very helpfu &, friendly. Free internet use in guest common area lounge. Hotel also has pool, gym and steam room. Rooms are immaculate and beds very comfortable.
Hotel Restuarant was closed due to renovations, large choice of cafes & restuarants around the corner to the Hotel made it easy to find somewhere to eat and drink.
Opposite corner to the Hotel was the cake shop "Magnolia Cupcakes" which has its other famous shop of the same name in New York.

Thank you so much choosing to spend your 4th of July holiday with us. Happy to hear you took full advantage of our great location. Magnolia Bakery is really great to have so close.
One small note for future readers: We are converting the saunas into a great little massage area – so we no longer have saunas as of today. The massage area will be a much nicer amenity for our guests use.
Thank you for your kind words and we hope to see you soon,

I was welcomed with a big smile and really friendly/helpful front desk staff. After a long trip this is always nice! The rooms have obviously recently been renovated and everything is shiny and new. The beds are comfy and rooms quiet. Great location, free wi fi as well as robe and slippers on my bed when I arrived. Did I mention a chocolate and weather report on my pillow at night? Great little touches which make a stay memorable.

The guys at the front desk were so accommodating with all my requests, they even offered to check me in for flight and out print my boarding pass, amazing service I have never experienced anywhere in the world!

They were still doing renovations on then front section of the hotel, so the gym area is dusty and noisy, however they did warn me on arrival this was the case. This did not effect my stay in any way.

Overall I would recommend this hotel to anyone coming to LA who wants a great location, nice boutique hotel and amazing service. I honestly did not want to leave :)

We appreciate the kind review and that you enjoyed the hotel and staff during your stay.
We are adding a great little massage room down off the fitness center and we are almost finished, but it might have created a little more dust than normal during your stay. We definitely try to clean more regularly and block off that area, but the first part was a little more intrusive.
Can’t wait to share all the finishing touches with you on your next stay!

We stayed at the hotel just for night because we live only 30 miles away but wanted a little weekend get away.
I love the location! That is the best part. You can walk to tons of eating places and tons of shopping options too. The food options are out of this world! Bakeries, excellent restaurants, old school places mixed with new hot spots, etc. The grove and farmer's market are a quick 10 min walk. If you need to go to any other tourist areas, it would be a short drive/cab.
The staff was very friendly and helped us out with any questions. The parking fee is high, but that's how it is everywhere in LA. The pool looked a little small with only a few chairs. I would have hoped for just a few more lounge chairs next time.
The rooms were a decent size and I think we had a newer room because the carpet and bathroom were very nice. There were other rooms that looked under construction but we could not hear them. I loved the comfy bed and couch. There was a 24 hour room service offered, but we didnt use it.
I will stay here again next time, but request a new room and hope that I get a chair by the pool.

Vacations in your own back yard are often some of the best kind, and a great opportunity to enjoy a new trendy neighborhood. We are so happy to help our guests enjoy West 3rd St
True, our pool is a little on the small side and we did happen to have some lounge chairs out for minor repairs over the dates of your stay. The good news is we will be adding an additional sundeck and some great new design elements to the pool very shortly and I personally ensure you a spot in the sun!
Thanks for the great review and we look forward to your next visit.

We had a great experience at The Orlando for the American Girl Doll package - package includes the doll beds and breakfast vouchers. They discounted our valet parking to $15. Each girl got an American Girl Doll bed (which you can only get from this partner hotel). Paul Gardner provided excellent service contacting me the night before, welcoming me and to get the names of the girls and their dolls to write special hand written notes to the girls and their dolls. He also gave us a pleasant surprise of an early check in before noon. Front desk staff were happy and energetic, certainly made me feel the same way. The hotel is walking distance to the Grove. Lots of cool shops, restaurants, boutiques in the area. Close to The Ivy, $5 cab ride to get our Ivy Gimlet. My only concern was the room service menu prices need to be updated, when the food came the pricing was more than the menus so hopefully they will change that next time, we ordered coffee that was $3 on the menu, but ended being $8 but they removed the charge due to the price discrepancy (and it didn't taste much better thena the in-room coffee). Excellent stay we will be staying there again and recommending them to all our American Girl Doll owner friends.

We are very proud of our partnership with American Girl and enjoy our little travelers very much.
Paul and the team at the front desk will be happy to know they made your visit with us memorable.
I will be sure to follow up with the chef regarding the menu pricing – thank you so much for bringing it to our attention.
Looking forward to your next visit!
