Quality Inn Near Hollywood Walk of Fame
Ranked #133 of 353 Hotels in Los Angeles
Reviewed February 22, 2013

The Quality Inn is poorly named. The walls and doors are paper thin so you coudl hear verything going on in the hotel, even people on the ground floor sitting beside the pool talking quiatly when our roo was on the second floor. Our room was at the top of the stairs so everyone ragging their luggage up the stairs was very noisy, and many guests (almost everyone we met there was Russian) showed little consideration by keeping quiet. Breakfast was terrible- only three tables so we were told to get the food and take it back to our room. The food was either stale cereal or tasteless waffles, we only ate there twice in the six days we stayed there. There are plenty of chain restaurants within 5 minutes walk, and Hollywood and it's depressing lights are only a few minutes walk away, so the location is very good. Staff were friendly and helpful but overall it was a disapponting experience. There is a coin laundry across the road.

Room Tip: Get a room as far away from the stairs as possible.

This hotel is about a ten-minute walk to Grauman's Chinese Theatre and to the Red line Metro which is veryconvenient. We arrived at Los Angeles Airport and took the FlyAway bus to Union Station. After touring the Downtown area-- El Pueblo, Little Tokyo, the Bradbury Building, the Walt Disney Concert Hall-we walked to the Red Line Metro station "Civic Center" and took it to the station "Hollywood/Highland," which is very near the hotel. Please note that it is a good idea to buy a Metro TAP card at Union Station. We bought a 7-day unlimited one ($21.00) You can also pay exact change ($1.50,but you usually need 2 buses and there are no free transfers). The train, however, does not take you to many other tourist sites. Instead we used buses which are again conveniently located a half-block from this hotel. Although sometimes we had to wait a little longer than we would have liked for a Los Angeles bus, we were able to go pretty much everywhere. See the Los Angeles Metro website for directions. In fact, we found it preferable to being stuck in traffic and looking for parking. Upon leaving Los Angeles for San Diego, we rented a car from Avis to which we took the Red Line and Purple line. Again this location turned out to be convenient.

Room Tip: We were on the second floor, and even though the street was busy we had no trouble sleeping.

The room was simple, and the location was good. We were within walking distance to Hollywood Blvd and Sunset. The bar across the street (The Woods) was fun as well.
My boyfriend and I stayed in the hotel and both accumulated a lot of change that we left on the night stand. I didn't have any real complaints about this hotel until I noticed that when I came back after our room was cleaned, all of the quarters from our change piles were missing. While it was not a lot of $$ (tops $2 total) the fact is that someone who works for this hotel entered our room and stole something from us. There are no safes in the rooms, so who knows what else could go missing if it were left out. I will not be returning to this hotel.

Really good location within 600 yards of the main Hollywood boulevard. For the price this was a great hotel with secure underground parking. Rooms were clean and tidy and the breakfast was reasonable. Pool was small but clean.

Rooms were adequate for our stay although we did not get rooms near each other as requested at the time of booking (we are a family of 5 with teenagers). The teenagers ended up on the ground floor and had no wifi connection at all but we did on the first level. Breakfast times were totally unrealistic ending at 9.00am including weekends and the breakfast room was way too small for the volume of people trying to eat in it. They definitely need to enlarge the eating space.Breakfast room door was locked promptly at 9.00am to prevent people coming in.
Secure carpark and easy walking distance to Hollywood Boulevard. Nice cheap and cheerful Thai restaurant just down the road too

Room Tip: If you want wifi do not get a room on the ground floor

We stayed one night here in between places as we wanted to stop over in "Hollywood" to see the strip. It was just what we expected.... Clean and comfortable. The breakfast was very good, and the woman running the breakfast was in the room keeping an eye on things and interacting with customers. Very nice people at this location.
The Room itself was basic, but we felt it was clean.
For around $100 in this area, we felt it was good value.
Its not the Hilton, but it was what we were looking for.

i loved the hotel, nice and cozy with a spanish style design. it was very clean with a comfortable bed, but i did not like the pillows. good thing there was a table for me to eat on. the shower was nice, but the sink vanity was too small. i had no place to put all of my makeup and girly stuff. the desk guy during the day was nice and very helpful, he even GAVE me a charger for my droid when mine would not work. the parking garage was a bit scary when youre driving in, it looks as though the gate is opening forward to hit your car. make sure u back up. but once youre in its a very secure lot.

two people on the staff i did not like: the desk guy at night. every time i would ask him a question he would answer in a baby-talk voice as if he was trying to flirt with me. it was as if he did not take me seriously because im a young woman staying alone, even though i paid just like everybody else.

the other lady i found abrasive was the breakfast lady. she is always in the breakfast room just standing there watching everybody, i never really saw her do anything productive besides try to give my waffle away to somebody else and turn someone away for food because they were there a second after 9:00 am, which is way too early for breakfast to end anyway. she really is not needed, ive stayed at many hotels and this is the first one ive seen with a watchdog at breakfast. also, the breakfast room is too small. a few times i had to stand to eat because all tables were full. and its so early that everyone is grouchy and just trying to get to the food damn near pushing eachother out of the way. there were no hot items except for the make your own waffle, but hey it is free. there were some healthy items such as fruits, whole wheat bread and yogurt.

overall i would stay again because i liked the room and location near plenty of shopping centers, restaurants, sunset and hollywood blvds. also great if you dont bring a car because a few different buses stop right outside.

Room Tip: just ask for one with a fridge and microwave
