“Great little Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2013

We only stayed one night here, as budget only allowed us the one night before moving on to our hostel. But it was a great night! the staff were really lovely. looked after our bags as we got there early, and checked us in as soon as possible (2hours early) so we could get some sleep.
Location was great. right behind Highland plaza and great value for money

This hotel is amazing in many ways. (1) staff - were really helpful and nice - they even kept our baggages for us when we left Hollywood for a few days! (2) security - doors are kept locked every night and there will always be someone nearby to open the door for us in the evening (3) rooms - the rooms are so clean and kitchenette area and utensils were all clean and spacey. The rooms are so spacey as well (4) food - since it is only 2 storey, it was so easy to get to breakfast and you could drink hot coffee 24 hrs cos it is just outside your room!! You can have your breakfast in the comfort of your own bedroom and get some more food and drinks just outside your rooms! (5) location - this hotel is so close to Hollywood Boulevard, movies and everything else, you dont need to walk far! You can walk back while shopping if you need to use the bathrooms hehe (6) price - the price is amazingly cheap but the look of the hotel is of a 4 star hotel, but to me it is of 5 star quality! We even rejected to move to a 5 star hotel just to stay here. If you book online and it says full, you must call cos the online details could be different, this is why we had to book an adjacent hotel in the first place.

Overall, the place is very impressive and modern. It is secure for kids who like to open the hotel bedroom door while you are relaxing! There are vending machines that sell drinks and travel necessities. I love the people who looked after the place!! There is also a computer outside if you wish to surf the net! No need to bring a laptop!

Room Tip: All the rooms are great. We stayed in 3 different rooms and all every spacey. You could request extr...

A short walk through a pedestrian tunnel at the end of the quiet street takes you through to the Hollywood and Highland Centre and chaotic Hollywood Boulevard. Right near the theatres, metro station (one stop to Universal Studios), with a supermarket and restaurants nearby. Our room was cosy, but had separate nooks with a table/microwave and a luggage area. The beds were high and comfortable. The paintwork was a little worn, but he hotel has character and the room was very clean. Request a first floor room if you don't want to carry bags upstairs.
Breakfast was basic but adequate (muffins, waffles, toast, sugary cereals and juice). You take it on trays back to your room. Staff were friendly and responded quickly to emails. They organised a flat-rate taxi to LAX for $55.

location was very good for hollywood attractions with tour company just around the corner. Hotel is right next to shopping and eating mall.
welcome was good and rooms had a little more space with table and chairs for b/fast,fridge and decor in an art nouveau setting
hotel let us have use of the tap cards for the metro( we of course paid for fares)
metro 2 mins away from hotel on h/way boulevard
friendly and helpful people/hotel.

If you are looking for a reasonably priced, centrally located hotel for the classic tourist spots, this is it. On a very quiet dead end street one block behind Hollywood Boulevard near the Dolby theater is this great little hotel. Easy to reach from the highway, safe to walk to at night. Friendly staff, large clean rooms (some with kitchenettes I believe), continental breakfast and parking for $10/ night. The rooms are huge. The standard room is either a king or two queens. Our king had a sitting area, dressing area, dinette with four chairs and a small fridge. There's a microwave in the public breakfast alcove.

Breakfast is simple--Costco-type muffins, cereal, bread and waffles to toast and some pieces of fresh fruit. Apple and orange juice. No yogurt. Coffee and tea available around the clock. There is no restaurant in the hotel but many, many close by!

Only disappointment was the Internet. It's not wireless! Ethernet cord supplied upon request for wired in-room Internet but if you brought your iPad you can't connect. There is a Starbucks close by but I missed being able to use my iPad in the room.

We were in room 109 and it was perfect. I would suggest you ask for room 107 or higher. The ones lower than that would be too close to reception and the breakfast alcove for my taste.

If I return to LA I will definitely stay there again. Book it without hesitation.

Room Tip: Room 107 or higher. Lower numbered rooms are close to reception and the breakfast alcove. Could be...

Good location and resonable prices in Hollywood. Free parking and very helpful staff. Rooms are a nice size and you get a free breakfast, which whilst limited was a great start to the day. During the day and evening you can get free coffee and water !!!. The area is very close to the major if very tacky sights (of course a tourist must) of Hollywood. Be warned the 'actors' who dress as characters will demand payment for a photo and why not, they have taken the time to dress the part. However !!!!!! The guys pushing the CD into your hand will DEMAND payment and will be aggressive. I'm a Brit and was having none of it and they soon back off. I did see some other nationalities giving them cash to make them go away. The LAPD should put a stop to this behaviour.

Location, location, location, you couldn't ask for better. It is just around the corner, a short walk to Hollywood Blvd. and all the attractions. It was very nice not having to take the car and fight for parking spaces! The staff at the hotel were the friendliest and most helpful that I have met.The accommodations were spacious and I loved the art deco theme throughout the hotel. I would most definitely stay here again when in the area.

Room Tip: Very small parking lot, arrive early to get a space.
