“Great friendly service”
Reviewed October 29, 2006

The Magic Castle Hotel is fantastic. A bit dilapidated and our rooms had horrors like thorn curtains and windows facing a giant clima box and an even less attractive wall. HOWEVER it had a great and safe location right behind Hollywood Boulvard, the courtyard pool is heated which was a thrill as nights in LA are chilier now. The staff was so friendly warm and welcoming and did everything whatever we requested in a split second. The internet was complimentary so as the breakfast. They also have lovely spiced water and fruit in the hall for free. The Magic Castle show was awesome and it is itself worth the stay. Once we got over the state of the room we felt like home.

I thoroughly enjoyed the magic castle. The staff were so friendly. The accommodations are clean, a bit old. The location is prime for doing the typical tourist scene. When you enter the hotel there is a bowl of apples and cucumber water to quench your thirst. The continental breakfast was great, fresh croissants and scones every morning. I would definitely go back.

This hotel is a perfect combination of friendly staff and a great location. After a long flight we were welcomed like long lost friends with a drink in the foyer - fantastic!

The room was very spacious and comfortable although not luxurious. The breakfast in the morning was relaxed and plentiful. Again, everything being presented in a very friendly way.

With the Chinese Theatre and Walk of Fame literally 10 minutes walk away and Universal Studios barely 15 minutes drive, this hotel is very well situated if you only have a short time in LA.

We expected more, to be honest, but we ended up in one of the smallest rooms, which was pretty small! Given the price the hotel's not in quite as good condition as you might imagine, however the location is good, the staff are friendly and helpful and the breakfast is nice.

I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed the service but was sorry to read that you were expecting more. I understand that you were in one of our "singles", which are rather small. Only 7 out of our 40 rooms are singles. The others are mostly 448 sq foot Suites with full kitchens. Within that mix there are a few Two-Bedroom Suites and Jr. Suites. If you decide to give us another chance, please contact me directly. I will make sure we make it up to you. We would love to see you again!

I heard about this hotel from a friend that lives in LA. She always wanted to check out the Magic Castle Club (located next door) but couldn't because it is a private club. The only way to gain access is to be a member OR be a guest at this hotel. I decided to be a guest and WOW was it a good choice! When we checked in, they gave us sparkling orange juice, explained everything about the area, gave us maps and quickly helped with our luggage. The rooms are HUGE, the beds are fluffy and the soaps they offer are simply luxurious! I stayed for 6 days so having a fridge in the room was especially helpful as well. I have never stayed at a hotel with a more helpful staff. Everyone was so great... even the maids. It was all the little details that made our stay so memorable... the chocolate turndown service, the small note cards left in your room each evening to alert you to the next days weather, the popsicles at the pool, the FREE mini bar. One word sums it all up; WOW! I will be back!

Myself and two friends stayed at the Magic Castle whilst on a whistle stop tour of the States. We only booked for one night, yet stayed for an extra two because of the great service we received from the staff and the spacious apartment sized room we stayed in. The hotel staff exceeded all of our expectations and were always friendly and helpful. The complimentary breakfast was delicious and handy when you're travelling on a budget. I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends, family and anyone who travels to Los Angeles.

This was the best hotel we stayed at during our honeymoon (Value for money too). Staff were very friendly, the hotel room turned out to be a huge appartment, kitchen, lounge, dining table, dvd player, 2 tvs, hi fi, soft music playing, kitchen with drinks and food. Would recommend to anyone. 1 block walk to the walk of fame, chinese theatre, kodak theatre & Hollywood Bowl. Everything you need within walking distance. Just brilliant.

Admission to the neighbouring Magic Castle included,
Complimentory breakfast and newspaper each morning. Free dvd rentals and tomorrows weather forecast posted in your room each night. Staff go out of their way to help.

We stayed in over 5 hotels through out California / Nevada on our trip - most higher star rated and none came close to the quality and experience.

Finally upon arrival home after the trip a postcard had been sent hoping you had enjoyed your stay.
