This was a really nice hotel, and it's convenience to Hollywood just can't be beat. It's only about a 10 minute walk to Grauman's chinese theater. The hotel had a nice little pool and a very nice continental breakfast. The hotel had many nice touches. It was chilly in February, so they had hot cider and cookies available in the front lobby in the evenings. The front desk has unlimited snacks and soda, which my teenage boy really enjoyed. They also have a list of free DVD rentals. Our room had a mini kitchen, and with the little supermarket on Hollywood Blvd available nearby, it was all very convenient. I felt it was a little pricey, but considering it's location and the fact that it allows you admission to the Magic Castle makes up for price. I felt the linens needed to be refreshed (one of our sheets was torn and the towels were somewhat dingy) and the room need to be repainted and recarpeted, but all in all it was a pleasant hotel.

We stayed at the Magic Castle hotel for three nights. It was not quite as comfortable as I anticipated. While the location is great especially for visiting Hollywood Blvd and those sites, the hotel itself is pretty plain. Our junior suite was barely furnished with some tired 50's era-design couch, chairs and tables. Plus when we checked in, we found that our room was at the back, up and down four different short flights of stairs and no elevator. Not fun hauling bags up and down or running back to the room for forgotten items. On the plus side, the staff was very helpful, lots of freebies including breakfast and the price is reasonable for a big city location.

We had a fantastic time at the Magic Castle Hotel. The staff are so friendly and great with kids. We loved the free snacks and drinks, as well as the continental breakfast and the hot cider every evening. Great location, spacious rooms, very clean pool, inexpensive parking. It is all good.

Great Location, 5 minute walk to walk of fame, Kodak theatre
Top Notch staff, A++
Large rooms, reminded me of Melrose place
Cheap $10 parking
Safe location

The negatives- somewhat outdated rooms. If you are looking for Sheraton/Hilton type hotel, don’t stay here
Not much else
Great for singles and families
Rate was slightly higher than i wanted to pay but a pretty good value

This was our second stay at the Magic Castle Hotel as a family. We arrived very early after a morning flight from Auckland. The staff were outstanding as usual. They organised our room within an hour, which helped a lot. They offered us breakfast while we waited.
We stayed in L.A. for 4 days and this is the perfect location to see the sights. It was great to see Daphne again. Thanks for all your help. Hope to see you again the future.

This is my second visit at the Magic Castle Hotel and it was even better than my last! The staff is incredibly friendly and eager to please. Our room was comfortable, clean and spacious. It felt so nice to have a fluffly bathrobe in the room as so many hotels don't have that option. Loved the turndown service with great mint chocolate candies along with creative cards with tomorrows weather, nice touch. The location is perfect as it's nestled within the Hollywood Hills and easy walk to Runyon Canyon or short drive to Griffith Park. A great amenity they have is free snacks! One staff member even went out to get my husband his favorite (twizzlers) as they weren't on the menu (who knows maybe they'll add it now). All in all this place is perfect for anyone who wishes to relax, enjoy the sunny outdoors (hiking or swimming) and be treated really special. Oh-also the scones in the morning are to die for!
