“Excellent service, spacious rooms”
Reviewed March 10, 2013

Rooms were large, design is that of a apartment complex turned into a motel. Front desk staff are second to none. Rooms and decor are dated but the beds were very comfortable. Pool area looked well taken care of even though we never used it. Wifi kept kicking us off as it did on every unlocked system on the trip, just had to log in again. Not a big deal for us but kind of a hassle with kids iPods. Location is excellent for proximity to attractions. Stay here if you plan on walking down to Hollywood boulevard and 5 minute drive to universal. 40 minutes to lax in morning traffic.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment in December with our 3 teenage children.
The whole experience was fantastic, our room was exceptionally clean, room was huge and had heaps of room for all of us and our luggage, secure off street parking, help yourself continental breakfast was great. I cannot commend the staff enough, the most polite, courteous & helpful of anywhere we have travelled, they even did our washing whilst we were out at a basketball game....AMAZING, packed snacks for our children when they heard we were going to Disneyland for the day, I LOVE THIS HOTEL.
Would always stay here if travelling to LA, there is nowhere better.

We stayed in Jan 2013 in a one bedroom apartment and were thrilled with the whole experience. Loved the room, pool, location, breakfast, free snacks etc. The best thing about this hotel is the friendly staff. They gave great advice about tourist attractions and booked them for us, offered to do our washing (!) and the night we had booked to go to the Magic Castle Club they leant the men jackets and ties and drove us up the driveway to the Club so we arrived in style! We were travelling with another Australian family and had 2 teenagers each. While we were at the club, they organised take away for the kids and got them snacks while they watched a movie in the room. Would highly recommend.

Can not complement them enough on how friendly, helpful and obliging the staff at the hotel were. The room was clean, comfortable and spacious. The breakfast spread was great and the warm apple cider was amazing. It was nice and close to the metro train to get to universal studios.

Stayed in one of the two bedroom apartments that looked newly renovated - a pleasant stay in what I would class as an average style accommodation (not four or five star) but we were anticipating the standard and the price was good. Like most, we found the service excellent with the staff at the main reception very willing and able to help you with your requests and always cheerful and obliging. It does make a difference to your stay.

The location, whilst not in a upper class area is walking distance to Hollywood Boulevard (very tacky tourist road in parts) but also close to Sunset Boulevard and some nice eateries. We did hire a car and had no trouble getting around and Universal studios is close by (though it was quite a drive to Disneyland).

One comment about our apartment was the bathroom was quite small for four people, but it may have just been our apartment. Had no trouble parking the car ($11/day) and whilst next time, I may look at staying a little more upmarket in Santa Monica, I would recommend this hotel for its great service and value for money.

A great overall hotel to be close to the Hollywood landmarks and Universal Studios.

The pros of the hotel are:
1. Extremely friendly guest service. Ask them for feedback on best location for rooms. They also provide order in menus and free snacks such as hershey bars or soda;
2. It is an easy walk to the metro for universal studios and they explain it all.
3. The pool is great - with a nice deep part and salt water. Hotel life revolves around the pool.
4 The rooms are large and the bed is comfy and bathroom renovated. You can get an extra matress for the second child.

The cons were few:
1. If I were picky I could say that the trip and walls could use a fresh coat of paint;
2. A bit noisy in the court yard at night but the hotel is good at responding if this is a concern. We waited until 10 pm before mentioning this.

Room Tip: Ask for upper level with balcony facing pool
