The one bedroom suite we had at the Magic Castle Hotel was enormous - we had a lovely big bedroom with a huge king size bed, great storage space, a flat screen TV, and as well as that we had a living room with a desk and chair, a large sofa that would make an extra bed, a large flat screen TV in there too, dining table and four chairs, and a full kitchen with cooker, fridge and freezer and sink with waste disposal! We were lucky to get a ground floor room, and access to the pool, which was open 24/7 and heated, couldn't have been easier. Staff were friendly and generous with the free snacks, even insisting we take some with us on checking out the following morning. The one slightly down note in the room was the state of the bath in the bathroom, which was a bit tired and could have done with updating. Other than that the room was wonderful. On our arrival the staff informed us of the Farmers' Market event going on up the hill behind the hotel and we wandered up there to eat, saving us from going to a restaurant that night. The location is great if you want to be with the action on the Hollywood strip.

Room Tip: If you don't want to use stairs, ask for a ground floor room. But if you want a private balcony...

Just finished a 4 days stay at the Magic Castle Hotel and it was fantastic. The place is a bit old but that just adds to the Hollywood atmosphere. Everything is clean, neat and works well. We had a King suite and it was spacious and very comfortable. Our room was at the rear of the hotel and the only drawback was the occasional late night traffic noise from the road going up a hill behind us. Would recommend a room on the side of the property. The location is top notch. Just a quick stroll down to Hollywood Blvd and good access to drive to other locations. As a hotel guest, we took advantage of the invitation to the Magic Castle. Don't miss this for the world. The staff were more than helpful with everything from helping with the luggage (no elevators), directions to attractions (including construction zones on roads), bringing snacks (free of charge) to your room or just making you feel more than a guest. Little things like the free breakfast, free wi-fi, a 24-hour heated pool and pool towels laid out on the lounges were nice. They even brought is popsicles one afternoon as we lounged by the pool. If you want a Hollywood feel, this place has it. Will definitely be back.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a balcony.

Amazing service - all staff were really friendly and helpful - have never experienced service like it before. Upon arrival there was a welcome pack with things like swimming googles and magic tricks for the kids. Complimentary snack bar was awesome, pool nice and warm, laundry facilities very handy. Location is excellent. We didn't want to leave - staff made us feel like we were family - we will definitely stay here again if we return to USA.

The living room furniture was a bit shabby, but otherwise it was great. It was roomy and comfortable. Snacks were available anytime you wanted. The morning pastries were fresh and delicious. I would have liked a room looking out at the pool ,but this may not have been an option for this suite.

Room Tip: Don't get a room facing the street.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write this review. I’m very glad to know that enjoyed the service, the breakfast...and the free snacks (everyone loves those).

We do have suites that overlook the pool and I’m so sorry that you didn’t get one. If you do get a chance to come back and stay with us, please contact me prior to your arrival and I will personally see to it that you get one. There is usually more demand than supply for these particular suites, but we always do our best to accommodate all requests.

I’m sorry that you were not a fan of the furniture in the living room. We are switching out the older furnishings with new. If you could contact me with your room number I would appreciate it.

Please come and see us again. Thank you so much.

Sincerely,

Darren Ross

My best friend and I met up here for four days of fun in Hollywood last week and we could not be happier with our stay at the Magic Castle Hotel. Things were perfect down to the very last detail. We had a room/suite with a balcony overlooking the pool and would thoroughly recommend this option. It was spacious, newly renovated, and the design was retro and funky. We loved having breakfast on our balcony overlooking the pool. We were in room 217 which had twin beds. We swam every day and the pool was always warm. We also made the most of the free snacks which were very welcome.
If you are lucky enough to stay on a Thursday make sure you take in the farmer's market between 5pm and 9pm up on the hill behind the hotel at at the spectacular Yashimoro Restaurant which has the best views in LA. Both the market and the restaurant were recommended by hotel staff for their fabulous food and they were spot on with all their suggestions.
All the staff demonstrated the very best in customer service from Darren the Manager and Gretchen the Assistant Manager, to Nick on the front desk and John who drove the free shuttle to the restaurant. However, special thanks must go to Lisa who had the most incredible recommendations for food and even arranged for us to have a special dish waiting for us when we dined at Yashimoro. We could not have been happier with our stay. We live on two continents so we only get to see each other every few years and our visit was made perfect by our stay at the Magic Castle Hotel. We can't thank them enough.

Room Tip: Get a balcony room overlooking the pool because they are away from the street noise There is a $25 a...

I never write reviews for hotels but this one deserves that I take the time. The service is superb. They go out of their way to make sure that you're happy. When you arrive, they greet you with a glass of mimosa. You get free snacks and free soft drinks at all times. I stayed there with my mom and the hotel was fully booked. They only had a suite available and so we took it. It was like a nice, big apartment, very clean. We had the balcony, very cool! You can tell it had been renovated. It's very quiet even though some guests had kids. I really felt like I was home. The area is very secure. It is a block away from Hollywood Blvd (the walk of fame , chinese theare, madame Tussaud Museum, the kodad theater, etc.) I cannot recommand enough the Magic Castle Hotel. The great reviews that it's getting are not exagerated. We will go back to L.A and Magic Castle will definitely be the place to be. Absolutly wonderful!

This is a fantastic hotel. We stayed this week with 2 adults and 2 children. There is nothing the staff at the Magic Castle won't do to help. From the free snacks and drinks, which even extended to us when we came to pick our luggage up after checking out, to the complimentary DVDs, the weather forecast on your pillow every night, and to just the genuinely friendly people working there. We were a block from the middle of Hollywood Blvd (Grauman's, Dolby Theatre etc) yet the room we had was super quiet. There was a full kitchen as well.

We had come from a disappointing stay at one of the huge hotels in Vegas, so this was just what we wanted. Truly a fantastic place to stay, and I will be recommending it to anyone going to L.A.
