“Nice Hotel, good price”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 12, 2013

Stayed at The Residence Inn Beverly Hills with my 18 and 21 yo children. We had a king bed and a pull out couch which worked for us. The room was clean, bed a little hard. Only complaint was the toiletries were very skimpy. My daughter has long hair and one bottle of shampoo was just enough for her. If you ask for extra at the front desk, they will give you more. Parking is pricey, 27/day. Good location but you have to walk about 10 min to get to shops/restaurants. Breakfast was good and helped with expenses. Would stay here again!

Stayed here and found this lil hotel to be close to everything Beverly Hills. Like the breakfast area and rooms are nice. Hotel is old but remodeled nicely. Rooms are a bit pricey and parking is very expensive and you really don't have much choice on parking anywhere else.

Room Tip: Paying for Marriott name for this near Beverly Hills location.. Nice hotel but lacks amenities you w...

Large living room but very small bedroom with little space to walk around the bed and the door (leading to the living room) would only open half way before hitting the bed. Bathroom was small with closet right behind the sink making it hard for someone else to be in that area at the same time. The kitchen was very nice with all the amenities needed. We found the bed to be too firm for our liking but there was little to no noise from other rooms either above or below. Breakfast was ordinary and very crowded as there are seven floors of rooms. Parking is extra and there are always lots of taxes added on to your bill. Pretty expensive for two nights but then this is Beverly Hills.

I'd probably give this hotel a "good" rating rather than very good. The people who staff the place were all terrific. I had asked for a room on a high floor, with a view, and that's exactly what we got. The front desk staff and the concierge were extremely pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was fine. If you take into account the included breakfast and the easily-available street parking within a couple of blocks to the hotel, the price becomes very reasonable. We stayed almost a week in early December and always found either street parking or meter parking (2 hours from 8AM to 6PM, M-F, as opposed to $23 for self-parking or $27 for valet). There was a nice supermarket less than 2 blocks away and also a good sushi restaurant. The room was a nice size with a functional kitchen. BUT, don't expect fine finishing touches. The heating unit (yes, heat...at night them temperature flirted with 50 degrees) was extremely noisy and things didn't always fit quite right. The "jacuzzi" was a nice way to soothe aching muscles after a long day of sightseeing but it's in a basement that feels like a basement and the walls and ceiling are in obvious need of a paint job. All in all we would probably come back to this hotel again because the positives easily outweigh the negatives.

Room Tip: After reading other reviews, we asked for a high room with a view and would recommend the same, desp...

We accepted our travel agent's recommendation to here, even though I wanted to stay across the road at the Crowne Plaza. To be honest, my regular choice hotel in LA is the Sofitel next to the Beverley Centre but the price this time was just too much in comparison.

The hotel was clean. The staff were friendly.

I was informed at check-in that the bar was closed until further notice because they had not been able to hire a new bartender after the previous one had resigned. For a hotel in a busy tourist metropolis - this was not a promising sign. But too be honest, it pretty much personified the style of the hotel. They basically viewed themselves as a laid back, off the grid locale which didn't go to too much effort to impress - but they charged accordingly. That's pretty much what our stay was like.

The room was very small for a suite, the valet was often slow because it was understaffed. The lifts took forever at busy times.

BUT

The staff ALWAYS tried to cater to our needs. The hotel was well presented and did not feel neglected despite its obvious age. Pico Blvd is a self-sustained main street, close to everything and the hotel is essentially located on Pico. So for a well located hotel which is very reasonably priced and clean - this is a winner. If you want more, then pay more; but for the money, you really won't find better; especially given how expensive LA can be.

There isn't much more to say other than the TVs are modern enough. There is a self service laundry and even a pool and gym, but they are not glamorous. The fancy deli across the street delivers - even though it is about 5 feet away.

This is a great place if you are here for a long stay. Well equipped kitchen with large fridge, dishwasher. There is a Supermarket 3 minutes walk where you can get hot soups, salads, and generally take away foods. You can walk to rodeo drive, some 15 minutes.
Breakfast is also great with a waffle machine for you to make your own waffles. Wifi is free and very fast.
I would stay here again as it is value for money.

Australian families love 2 bedroom apartments, and this hotel offers them. It's not cheap or particularly modern, but it did offer everything we were looking for. 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and 3 tvs meant everyone was accommodated. Breakfast was included in the rate, and was more than adequate. The kitchenette allowed us to self-cater, and the nearby deli and pizza delivery options were great. There is a small (very - about 1m x 1m) store on site for essentials.
We would have enjoyed a pool for the hot days, which this property did not have.
It felt safe, even at night, and we walked to Rodeo Drive with our two children (10 and 7). A taxi rank was just outside.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the street, or on a higher level.
