If you love ice cream sandwiches and are in the Westwood area, Diddy Riese is a great place to go, provided you can stand standing in line. We went around 9:30 on a Sunday evening, well before the start of the fall semester at UCLA, and the line went around the corner and then halfway down the block. Everyone around us agreed it was the longest line they had seen, but no one left. The guy behind us said he just came for a snack before bed. Thankfully, there were plenty of people behind the counter, so the line kept moving at a fast enough pace to keep us motivated. It felt a little chaotic inside the store, with many customers ordering and the people behind the counter having to move back and forth from the cookie side to the ice cream side (how about keeping the cookies above the ice cream?). We ordered vanilla with peanut butter cookies, and butter pecan with white chocolate macadamia cookies. Two scoops of ice cream set between two cookies... They came with wrappers and were set into cups. For $1.75 each, what a sweet deal!
