Excellent stay at this kooky hotel, clean, comfortable with excellent staff. In a prime position on Venice Beach. The free postcards sent by the hotel was a nice touch. Just make sure you close the front door properly after hours as I saw people from the street sneaking in late at night.

We appreciate your compliments and the watchful eye you had on our hotel. Right before you had stayed we had a new front door installed as the final touch on a renovation of our front entryway and it needed some additional adjustments to latch correctly. Those adjustments have been made!

We spent a couple of nights in this boutique hotel, which borders directly onto Venice Beach.
The room was on the 3rd floor and was clean, comfortable and surprisingly quiet.
For meals one has to venture out to Main Street or Washington Blvd.
Parking is $15 overnight in a parking lot about a couple of blocks away.
We had fun, felt safe and comfortable and had a good time.

Room Tip: You may want to ask for a room on the third floor 305 or higher

My sister and I arrived quite late from SF straight to Venice beach and had a great welcoming at check-in.
The room was top top comfy with a great view on the ocean. The staff was attentive and friendly. Venice beach Suites & Hotel was probably our best stay while is CA. Coming from Africa, it was like being with Hank moody in Californication - Loved the walks on the beach front and in the canal.
You should stay in Venice if visiting LA and should stay in this place.

A lot of guests recognize Venice Beach from TV shows (especially NCIS:LA) and you mentioned Californication, which is cool and does a lot of filming on location in Venice. Did you know that the apartment that stands in as Hank's on the show is just three blocks from our hotel, on Brooks Avenue? I hope you got a chance to see it!

We're so glad you found us! Don't forget to ask for your 10% repeat guest discount when you make your way back to SoCal!

When I entered my room I became worried about two things; no air condition, and noise from the street. The breeze from the sea mitigated the heat (third floor side of building), and the street performers and crowds weren’t very noisy, and stoppd fairly early in the evening. There were however a lot of helicopters around. Don’t know why. I really liked the wooden floors and the decent sized fridge. There are some pots and pans and cutlery, but no knives, ladels or other stuff to prepare food with. In the side stret there’s a decent coffee shop for breakfast, and several hole-in-the-wall kitchens for lunch and dinner takeaway if needed. I found the Indian food excellent.
Staff at the hotel were all very friendly and helpful. If I ever go back to Venice Beach, I’d definetly book this place again.

Room Tip: Third floor had good views and seabreeze

I'm so glad you stayed with us and took the time to make these excellent points about the feel of our rooms and the vibe of Venice.

As for the helicopters that fly over the beach and Boardwalk (which is common question from guests)... the LAPD has an Air Support Division that helps in keeping the residents of and the visitors to Los Angeles safe!

This is an awesome spot right on the Venice Boardwalk! You will get a great feel of Venice and get a true experience of the area. The rooms are great and my girlfriend and I enjoyed them much better than a standard hotel room as they have a great little home-y feel to them. The place itself has its own great personality and is definitely worth experiencing. Matt at the front desk was extremely nice and helpful (always asking whats up for the day and offering some local insight) and the staff makes you feel welcome. Do yourself a favor and grab and open date as we can't wait to return!

There's nothing more satisfying for me as a transplant to SoCal than welcoming fellow Pennsylvanians to this hotel and sharing in their experiences. Venice Beach has a way of calling people to come to see what this place is all about; via movies, TV, the web or good old fashioned word-of-mouth. For me, it was the music of Jane's Addiction and the Red Hot Chili Peppers that made me leave the woods behind for the California coast almost 15 years ago now. For you, I can only hope that once you do heed the call, you make the leap and stay with us and then do like Nick will do and plan a trip back as a repeat guest! Very happy with this sweet little hotel on the beach. If you're staying in Venice would definitely recommend this place. Building is quite old obviously but the room had been recently renovated and was very nice. Pretty spacious with everything you need right on the beach. Service was 10/10, a great little welcome to the states

We're happy to welcome so many Australians to our historic hotel as they either start or end their extended vacation of the U.S. And being so close to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), getting here (YAY!) or going home (BOO!) couldn't be easier!

Stayed here a few times in 2006 and 2007, loved it then, loved it now. Matt and company make everything as chilled out and relaxed as possible. When arriving pull up in back, they help you with your luggage and direct you where to park on the local streets - all good. The available beach chairs, umbrellas, and beach accessories in the main office were also a big help.

The funkiness and vibe of life at your doorstep is wonderful. Had my wife, baby, and mom for this trip and we couldn't have been happier day or night. Walk, bike or run up to Santa Monica, enjoy the awesome beach right outside, people watch etc. Just enjoy the parade.

If you can swing an oceanfront view room or side view room it's def worth it. Also, like them on Facebook as Matt posts cool pics all the time.
