We spend 2 nights in this hotel.
The room it looks old, the place is quite quiet exepting the air coditioning wich is very old and noisy so, we had to turn off during the night, but we heard the others of our neighbours.
There is a pool there and the personal it was nice.
For the quality and services offerd I think it was expensive.

My husband and I spent 2 nights in a king room during our visit to Los Angles. This budget hotel and older facility and although updating is needed, the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. There was only a walk-in shower, no tub, and it was small. The desk staff was helpful and quickly tended to a problem with the television once notified. The continental breakfast was adequate but the sign requesting guests not to take extras for later in the day was insulting. We sat near the pool while we waited on laundry, but decided not to go in the water due to many leaves floating on the surface.. While by the pool, we observed a woman walk from a nearby parked car to the hotel's ice machine, get ice for a personal container, and return to the car and drive away. A drink machine took our money without dispensing our drink, and although the desk attendant promptly placed an "out of order" sign on it when we informed him of the problem, he did not offer to refund my money. We used the washing machine and dryer on the premises. They worked fine, but the room needed cleaning as 1-2 inches of lint was on the floor behind the dryer. If a budget hotel is needed, this one works, but only marginally.

Room Tip: There is no elevator so request a first floor if needed.

We stayed with my 9 year old daughter and my wife. The pool was perfect sun and shade to suit us both. The breakfast was great, the LA Times in the morning was great too. Perfect location for heading to Santa Monica or Hollywood. Close to the freeways too! Oh and the staff are so great and the whole property was super clean and very well kept.

Pool? Check.
Breakfast? Check.
A very close-by parking? Check.

Room itself was very well equipped as well. Stable and fast Wifi, plenty of room to work, hang out and a sleep in a comfy bed. Also it was very quiet.

Only fly in the ointment was that the air quality in our room was bit bad. We had to keep the door open quite often to get fresh air in. But of course you cannot have all, the price was very ok and room very clean.

Overall I would recommend this hotel!

Ok......not the greatest Inn, but good if you don't want to pay a lot of cash. The location is next to a gas station and on a very busy street.
On the plus side, the courtyard is charming and the staff is very friendly. The rooms are large with nice high ceilings. Very clean. Best of all.....a short drive to the wonderful Getty Center.
Not so nice is the shower by Water Pik, which has low pressure and is difficult to keep in place.
It is right off of Rte 101, but a little far from LAX. Just OK continental breakfast.
If your plan is to visit all the sites near and around LA you have to get on 101 and or 405, which is nothing but traffic (to be expected).
Oh, forgot to mention.......comfortable beds, quiet and...........free parking!
I could give a higher rating.......but there were no special amenities or anything outstanding.

My wife and I, not wishing to drive in the city centre and realising that seeing Los Angeles' sights by public transport was not an option because of the distances involved, elected to stay at the Tarzana while visiting some of the outlying sights because of its convenient location just off the Ventura Freeway and decent reports on Trip Advisor. We were pleased with our choice. It is only a motel but our room was clean and of a decent size. Despite its proximity to the busy Ventura Blvd it was reasonably quiet as it faced inwards towards the attractive (but untested) pool. Only the occasional siren penetrated. Breakfast was quite variable but adequate. Problems? The principal one was the dearth of decent eating places nearby. The hotel guide listed four promising-looking ones but we completely failed to find any within walking distance (10-15 minutes each way) on our first night and finished up in the local iHop (good, but still an iHop). Our second night we used the car to look further afield - and finished up in a Denny's (good, but still a Denny's). I later noticed that the guide was about 5 years old so most had probably closed or changed, though we did finally spot one when leaving on our third morning. It was about a mile away and down a side street. Our only conversation with the owner - as we were checking out - produced a lot of information that would have been helpful if we had talked to him earlier.

We were visiting family and wanted it to be as easy for them as possible so we decided to stay at a hotel. Tarzana Inn was recommended by locals. It's a nice little hotel maybe 40+ rooms, split level with a pool in the courtyard. This is not a bad part of the valley and not too far a drive to Universal Studios. The rooms are not big, but comfortable enough. Staff was friendly and efficient. Priced was very good.
