“Potential but more work needed”

I stayed at the San Pedro Inn and Suites Hotel based on reviews in tripadvisor. Positives: price was fair. Parking is good. Staff are friendly. Rooms are large with high ceilings (we were on 4th floor). Breakfast was ok with something for everyone. Bed was very comfortable. Negatives: Neighborhood is not great especially at night but feels better in light of day. Hotel under major renovation so some dust, noise, closed off areas. Noise from street and also from ice maker. Towels could be updated. Water pressure in shower marginal.

This was to be a nice family reunion gathering place before our cruise. The neighborhood was not great, hence the traffic noise was not good, but Best Western is scheduled to take over in January and hopefully that will improve. Ask for a room on the top floor in the back. The renovation did not in the least impact the Victorian furnishings, the sumptuous breakfast, nor the warm and hospitable staff.
The San Pedro Inn offers a complimentary shuttle to the cruise line as an added bonus.

My grandson and I stayed here for 2 nights before our Disney Cruise and for one night after. Yes, they are renovating, but nothing about the renovation interfered with our enjoyment. Rooms are spacious, clean and well appointed.

The staff are incredbily accommodating and the breakfast in the morning was a welcome treat. The location was fine, the hotel itself charming, and we had a great 3 days there. I would absolutely stay there again!

This hotel has a very charming Victorian-era feel inside with very accommodating, clean rooms. Breakfast was better than most hotels (lots of options) and the dinning area was very charming. I had a lovely time reading by the pool and using the jacuzzi. At the time stayed there was a bit of construction but I never heard a peep of noise. The hotel is not in the best location but the staff and management were very friendly. I would definitely stay here again.

The San Pedro Inn and Suites is more than adequate for a night before heading off on a cruise. The Hotel is fine with helpful friendly staff, free wifi, excellent buffet breakfast and very convenient free shuttle to the Cruise Terminal. A tip, reserve your space on the shuttle as soon as you check in as the prime times fill up fast! In any event, a taxi could not cost much as you are very close to the Port. The only problem with this Hotel was the location, if you are looking for a liquor store, fast food restaurant, laundromat, check cashing store or pawn shop you will have no trouble finding one close by! Some very pleasant restaurants are a short Cab ride away. We do not regret having chosen this Hotel and would use it again but although I have been assured that the area is safe I would not stroll around after dark

Others have said the same, and we second the fact that this is THE place to stay before your cruise. It seems like more than 90% of the Saturday night guests here are cruising the next day. The hotel offers an excellent shuttle service over to the cruise ships on Sunday morning. Be sure to reserve your shuttle trip when you check in on Sat night.

Hotel is undergoing renovations - no bar, no full restaurant yet, but the Sunday breakfast is just fine - waffles, hard boiled eggs, danish, toast, cereal, etc., and plenty of help yourself juices and coffee, and they keep the breakfast open for a very liberal amount of time on Sunday morning.

Rooms are excellent - we had a king bed with a view of the cruise ship terminal out the front. Not too noisy considering. Free WiFi is always a plus.

We arrived 'car-less' with another couple and wandered around the neighborhood to find Sat night dinner. The area is kind of a 'wasteland' in that there are plenty of fast food restaurants (Burger King, Micky D's, etc.) but limited sit down restaurants within walking distance. There are lots of liquor stores and pharmacies within easy walking distance to stock up on wine, newspapers, and other essentials for the cruise, plus have something for the room while at the hotel.

Prices are very reasonable for the room. The help is very helpful, and all in all, a nice place to stay before the cruise.

beautifully remodeled rooms, comfortable beds, air conditioning not working when we first checked in, but fixed immediately, breakfast an added plus, THe only downfall was the traffic noises that increased about 5:30 am. Bring earplugs. Close to the pier.

Room Tip: try to get a room near the back or bring earplugs
