JR Suite with Full Venice Beach Views! Valet, Front Desk & Breakfast Staff all helped make our stay here wonderful. Within walking and riding distance to all the great local sites (Lime Scooters are the best mode for traversing along the beach & through Venice)! When we comeback to Venice, Hotel Erwin will be our only consideration!

View from roof of the beach, Hollywood hills spectacular. Ambiance great. We only ate snacks, but they were good. Recommend the nachos and pizza. Great cocktails. Good service considering how busy it is. Only drawback was you are restricted to the amount of time you can spend there. Think 90 minutes - you are given a wristband!!! Still recommend a visit if you are in Venice Beach.

Let's start with the good - the location is perfect. If you want a Venice experience this hotel is the best place to do it. Walking distance from the Canals, Abbot Kinney Blvd, and is directly on the board walk. The views are amazing and the location makes going to the beach perfect. The check in staff were great - we had let them know it was our anniversary - and we discovered that they left champagne and a cute note in our room - very unexpected and super sweet. We had an Epic View room on the 6th floor - and the views were amazing. The room was clean, AC was awesome during the heat wave and housekeeping staff were great. The rooftop bar is both good and bad - the good is that the views are amazing and you get a good ocean breeze going - nothing else like it in Venice. Although pricey, the drinks, food and service were all good. Make sure you get a reservation at least a week (a couple weeks in advance for sunset in the summer) - it gets very busy. Now for the bad - if you want a quiet place to stay, this is not for you. Nor do I think it is all that great for kids/families - given the number of drunk patrons continually going to and from the bar in the elevators. Our room was on the 6th floor - after I read the reviews about the noise coming from the rooftop bar, I called to change floors but was told it is not that bad as long as the balcony doors are closed. I decided to keep the room as we were told it was a very nice room. Again, when we checked in, I asked about the noise. We were told that all employees had to go in the rooms and listen and that it is not too bad. She said that we could go up and listen and they would change us if we wanted. I thought it was great that they were willing to change us if we wanted. At 5pm, although we could hear the bass from the DJ playing on the rooftop bar, we decided it wasn't too bad. Unfortunately, I did not take in account that they would turn the volume up later into the night. It got quiet after midnight (when bar closes)- but until then, I knew which songs they were playing I could hear it so well. It was fun for the weekend - but if you want a quiet place to stay, then you may want to reconsider. Also, people were always in line for the bar (which forms outside of the lobby doors - so when we arrived, we had no one to help us with bags nor welcome us to hotel - they were so busy directing the line for the bar. Also, there is only one elevator - which takes everyone up to the bar. We were always waiting for the elevator (which is SUPER slow) - and finally just started taking the stairs. There is also no security for hotel guests - you do not need a key card to access any of the floors which seemed a little odd. Hotel is currently under renovation - hopefully they thought about adding an elevator for only hotel guests. Other than those negatives, we had a great time. If you want a fun weekend in a great location (with late nights) - then this is for you.

Room tip: Rooms on 6th floor will be noisy - don't let them tell you different unless you are a sound sleeper.

We came to Hotel Erwin with our daughter to help her find an apartment and move to LA. 1) the room was so clean and comfortable. Huge closet to store our extra suitcases. Beds comfortable, quiet at night. Very cool area! The most amazing thing is the staff! From the cleaning people, to the restaurant servers and the especially the front desk. Everyone was welcoming, helpful and competent at their position! Hope to stay again someday! Loved the welcome drink! Walking on the Venice Beach and the surrounding neighborhood is very fun as well! Thanks again for your warm, safe hospitality!

I went for the fireworks being fired in celebration of our nation's independence from tyranny. I stayed for the ice cold Miller High Life being served in 16 ounce cans. Old school. With the temperature soaring to 100 degrees this weekend I will be back for more.
