“Consistently Wonderful”
Reviewed May 29, 2012

We've been eating at Gio for years and years now. They consistently amaze us with fabulous dishes. The fresh pasta is always wonderful. My wife is particularly attached to their soups. They always have several puree soups, like brocolli, spinach, butternut squash, mushroom and potato leek. They do them without any cream, yet they are very creamy in consistency. The offer a "pasta dueto" which is 2 different pastas as an entree as well as their combination which is 3 different sampling of dishes, including pastas. The combination is a great way to sample several of their dishes in one sitting.
The restaurant is small but cozy. The tables are mostly in view of the cooking area of the kitchen and Chef Roberto greets regular customers from behind the counter. The service is very good and attentive. This is a place where, if you come regularly, they quickly recognize you and your preferences.
Pricing is very reasonable, especially for Los Angeles and the value is spectacular. We have never had a bad dish, meal or service all the years we have been going. For us it's one of those, "can't decide where to go, let's go to Gio"
