I stay here annually for a business meeting. Not too posh but is very comfortable and classy for a business stay. In the evenings you can walk to Universal City Walk in about 10 minutes or you can take the shuttle. This would be a great place for a family visiting the Park as it is close, safe, and a cut above. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Nice view if on one of the top floors. All in all a great place to stay and I will be back.

Conviently located right next door to Universal Studios, we chose the Hilton for that fact. Check in was pretty uneventful, though took the receptionist 10 minutes to find a King Alcove room that we had booked.

Will suggest an Alcove room if you like us were carrying a lot of luggage (last stop on a 5 week US holiday) or if you like that extra space! it was amazing.

Valet was helpful and very cost effective, and the tour desk was able to help us with booking a 4 hour LA tour on our last day, as well as directions to shopping/LAX (40mins in really good traffic, up to 1.5 hours during peak hour)

My only gripe is the elevators. they had 4 elevators to 20+ floors, with 1 being out of service the whole 3 nights we were there. The elevator took anywhere between 10-20 mins to arrive on my floor (level 16) and even then i would be lucky to get in as it was full. When venting my frustrations to staff at the elevator, they seemed disinterested and not caring. (4 suitcases, 2 pieces of carry on took us 45 mins to get into the car from our room in 2 trips.)

As long as they have fixed the elevator problem (maybe with staff not using it as often, i think i was in the lift 3x the whole trip that didnt have a staff member on their as well) i would stay there again!

Room Tip: King Alcove for all the extra room, only $10-15 a night more

Dear Guest,

Thank you for reviewing your recent stay with us. We are delighted that our staff was helpful during your visit. We regret the issues you had with the elevators during your stay. We are happy to announce the integration of new elevators in the next few months. We are already in the process of this renovation. These elevators will speed up guest flow and decrease wait times along with sustainable capabilities as well. You will have to come back and take a ride in our new elevators. We look forward to welcoming you back the next time you travel to the Los Angeles area.

Have stayed here numerous times over the years. This Hilton has always kept it's level of service and comfort extremely high. This visit was no different. We stayed for two nights in a King Alcove executive level room with a view of Universal Studio's and the San Fernando valley.

The room was immaculate. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom in the alcove room is quite large.

The staff here are fantastic. The front desk is very accommodating when they can be. We have always had great advice from the tour desk. The lounge and Cafe Sierra are worth a visit. Beware though, Cafe Sierra can be expensive.

The hotels location is a great base for sightseeing. It is a short drive to Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Griffith Park Observatory. Warner Bros. and NBC studios are about a 10 minute drive away. We could see WB studios from our room.

Dining options abound here. Nearby are numerous restaurants. Universal City Walk is right next door. Lots of shopping, dining and entertainment is available. You can take a shuttle ride or just walk to City Walk and the Studios.

This hilltop Hilton property is a must stay when coming to this area. It can be pricey at times, but it is definitely worth a visit.

Room Tip: A higher floor room will give you a better view. A alcove room is larger and are on the corner of th...

Spent 3 nights at this property in October 2013. Chosen due to its proximity to Universal Studios. Very comfortable room and bed, quiet pool area and short walk to the park & City Walk. Big buffet breakfast available. Short walk to metro rail, which is cheap, clean and easy to use. Good place to stay, moderately priced.

Stayed here for a night-over after going to Universal Horror Nights. Parking was a bit difficult to find, but once I was on the Hilton property the signs led me to the self parking underground lot. It was also difficult to identify which floor the lobby was on. In the stairwell there were signs on the doors, but they didn't really make sense.

The hotel has a large lobby floor with bar area, made-to-order sushi station and restaurant. The front desk did not mention if I had complimentary in-room wireless (I usually have it) and I forgot to ask. The room was very nice and clean. Very comfortable bed and pillows. The TV remote was a bit tacky and some of the channels didn't come in very well (digitally broken up), but we weren't there to watch too much TV anyway.

The air conditioning was impressively quiet and didn't shut on and off throughout the night; it also kept the room nice and cold. The bathroom was very nice and the shower pressure was just right. We ate dinner in the bar area and there was an older gentlemen playing guitar. It was quite "karaoke-ish" actually and it didn't seem to fit the establishment, he wasn't that great either, but it was a nice touch in some way or another. The service was okay, but the food wasn't much better (see that review.)

It's about a 7 minute walk to the park entrance and there is a shuttle that picks up in front of the hotel lobby. Self parking was $24/night.

Room Tip: To avoid noise, ask for a room away from the elevators.

Stayed here about 15 years ago with our daughter and came back because we liked it before. It is still a great hotel in an excellent location. Free shuttle service to Universal City Walk, but you can also easily walk there. Tons of food, shopping and entertainment options at City Walk without any admission charge. Entrance to Universal City is easily accesable. Hotel is beautiful with lots of glass and well landscaped grounds. Be prepared to pay top dollar for services within the hotel itself. Had martini's at the hotel bar during happy hour that were $12 each, but the free hors de vors were outstanding! Went back down to the bar for 2 vodka tonics to take back to our room and the bill was $43 (to clarify-they were doubles and that included the tip, but still--a bit of a shocker). Parking is $24 a night to self park. Hilton Honors members get a free continental breakfast which is a sweet roll and fruit which is served to you on a plate (you do not get to go into a buffet line to choose what you want. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here as it was our wedding anniversary and money really was not an object. Just be prepared for the prices.

Room Tip: Ask for a corner room--the windows wrap around the hotel and provide a stunning view.

We stayed for three nights and the hotel was great. There is a walkway to Universal Studios and Universal Citywalk so loads to do and places to eat and shop. The hotel was clean, the rooms fine and the price very reasonable.
