I want to preface this review by saying that I do not normally take the time to write reviews. However, I am so disgusted that I feel compelled to share our experience with this hotel. We had a VIP event at Universal Studios as part of my daughter's 21st birthday celebration. I booked two upgraded alcove king rooms on the 20th floor for the four of us to stay, the night prior to our Universal Studios event. We booked this hotel based on the proximity of the hotel to Universal Studios. When we arrived, only one room was available (which was fine), so we dropped our baggage off in the room that was available. The view was nice (windows filthy) but the room seemed tired. Being in a rush to leave to got to Beverly Hills, we did not really look too closely at the entire room and left for the rest of the day. Upon return to the hotel, we picked up the keys to the second room and went upstairs to get changed for our birthday dinner plans (Universal CityWalk). This is where the nightmare began. The first room had an intoxicating smell of Febreze. The floor was filthy. Dog pee (or something else?) on the floor behind the couch. Food stains (or something else?) had run down the baseboards in several locations. Old food and jam containers were under the television stand. This room was dirty everywhere...I want to preface this review by saying that I do not normally take the time to write reviews. Food stains (or something else?) had run down the baseboards in several locations. Old food and jam containers were under the television stand. This room was dirty everywhere we looked! I went next door to the other room (where my daughter was staying) to take a look at the conditions. The room did not smell of Febreze but had several stains down the walls and baseboards. I put my hand on the back of an armless vanity chair, to move it away from the wall, so I could sit by my mom. I felt something wet and looked at the back of the chair. The back and top of the chair had someone's fresh blood on it. Maybe the previous guest? ( Earlier- we had been told by the front desk that the person in that room was doing a late check out). I immediately ran into the bathroom and scrubbed and scrubbed my hands fearful of catching something. After numerous phone calls and waiting around for a long time(ruining any chance of making it to our birthday dinner plans), hotel security came to take a report. The front desk supervisor refused to come up to take a look at the filthy conditions of our rooms or the bloody chair. Christine, from security agreed that the rooms were filthy and that it was unacceptable. Nathan [--] (hotel manager) called us and said that the hotel would find us other rooms and he would personally make this right, including...More
