“Classic elegance and rich history”

Modern conveniences and classic Hollywood style. Excellent service and short shuttle (complimentary) to Universal Studios, however the bed left could have been much more comfortable.

MB&SB Oswestry England.

Stayed here in Sept 08 for 3 nights as part of our honeymoon road trip. We chose this hotel based on reviews on tripadvisor and its locality to Universal Studios. Hotel very pleasent.

The hotel rooms are clean and well maintained. The bar to unwind in is great and the american breakfasts are to die for in the cafe next door which is part of the hotel complex. Loads of choice and you can go up for seconds or even thirds. Great food at a great price. Pool area looked great but didnt have time to try it out. The hotel runs a complimentary bus service to Universal which is literally 5 to 10 min max away depending on traffic. Hotel staff very helpful and couldnt do enough for us whenever we had a question.

Would recommend this hotel for short stays. Next time we are in LA we would definately stay here again.

I expected so much more for this place especially for the price, which the rate I booked at cost me 50 bucks more then I had orginally planned.. this place was over 200 a night, for that you can stay at the universal sheraton which is walking distance to universal studios. The staff was not friendly nor rude, and i felt like a) I needed to be a movie star or someone famous or b) didnt seem like I had enough money for this place. They have a shuttle, which is poorly organized and always full and they do not run them enough for the large amount of guest at this hotel. The room was so-so, the beds were comfy but the shower was nice, with good smelling stuff they give you. There is no fridge or microwave, and room service only goes til ten at night so I cant rate that. Tula's was expensive for what you got (dennys type food) and the service was slow and the waiters rude! They obviously want you to get the buffet, which was standard continental, which you get free at very many other hotels, but was on the pricey side, and more expensive than the dishes on the menu. If they want you too order that, then they need to make it cheaper than the other breakfast's. They also boast on the website that kids eat free.. but then they dont give the kids a kids menu so they have to order the adults meal, and then the free meal doesnt apply. I didnt think the rooms were noisy, in fact our room had double glass doors but then I find the sound of the freeway relaxing and a part of vacation. If you want to get around this area, use the subway and busses if you are without a car, its cheaper and easy to get around do the research before you go! the metro redline takes you and connects you almost everywhere! they also push you to take one of the hollywood tours (which will cost you 60 to 100 bucks) , which after being charged 100 bucks more for my stay I couldnt afford. we went and walked around hollywood and found a tour company offering seats for 20 bucks! Overall, I didnt hate the place, but didnt love it, and thought it was too expensive for the stay, so only stay here if you get a good rate, and make sure that rate is secure before you book!

Stayed at the Beverly Garland for a couple of days in late July. It was only a few miles from the Burbank airport, which was great. It's kind of it's own little "compound"... they have a hotel with several buildings, tennis courts, playground, conference center, gift shop, pool, nice courtyard to sit and relax in, a restaurant (Tula's), a coffee shop, and a small bar.

The place was very clean and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We had an issue with our bathroom and someone was there to take care of it in less than 10 minutes.

Our room was great- very large and with great bedding. There was a tiny balcony which offered a view (beyond the freeway) of the hills. Even though we were close to the freeway, it was very quiet. The balcony had a double set of glass doors and they really blocked out sound.

The hotel offers a free shuttle to Universal Studios and we took advantage of it. The driver was friendly & the ride to the park only took a few minutes.

We ate dinner at Tula's one day- good food and fantastic service. We also visited the coffee shop each morning... good coffee and lots of breakfast type pastries available.

Parking cost $11 per night (cheaper if you're a rewards card member). Free internet in the rooms, which is also a nice thing to have.

Overall I was very pleased with the hotel and would definitely recommend it to anyone staying in the area.

Excellent locartion, close to Universal and hollywood.Roomy, clean and quiet free, shuttle to Universal.
Did not like the cost of parking, wifi, breakfast. Also did not like the fact that they did not explain the ease of use of the near by subway. They did not keep discount coupons and were very pushy to sell us organised tours.and expansive tickets
We were missing constantly shampoo, soaps etc...
To summarise: only average with important pros but many faults as well.
too expansive for what that was offered

The hotel was nice, the room clean, the staff friendly. No complaints on that. To bad in the city you always have to pay extra for parking and Wifi while the price is already higher then a nice countryside motel. Location is very good, close to the freeway and close to Warner Bros, Universal, Hollywood. Far from the airport though.
