Reality 60s style ,room s neat and tidy & half day rate for late checkout is handy

Thank you for submitting a review of your recent stay.... The goal of staff and management is to provide a reasonably priced hotel option that does not compromise on cleanliness and room amenities -- are we modern...No...do we have luxurious gardens that have literally disappeared from the moderate priced hotel landscape...YES--serene and tranquil plus a junior size Olympic pool--then the free shuttle, continental breakfast, Wi-Fi and guest computer center. You can pay 30% plus for fancy if décor is an essential ingredient for you to enjoy yourself.

We stayed for 1 night in October as we landed late into LAX.

Our room was a 2 x Double bed room and the Hotel is Pet friendly, I noticed that we were in a Pet friend room and the floor was tiled not carpet, but that was fine. It was clean and smelled fine.

Our room was downstairs and at the back of the hotel but near the road, we could hear some road traffic but not enough to keep us awake.
It was only 5 minutes from LAX.

The pool looked inviting but we didn't stay long enough to try it.

The breakfast was good and included waffles, pancakes, cereal, fruit, tea, coffee and juice.
We found staff both at check in and check out very helpful and friendly.

There is Denny's out the front for a quick meal

This is great motel if you just want somewhere to put your head after a flight before moving moving on at a reasonable price.

Room Tip: Ask for something away from the road.

Thank you for submitting a review of your stay with us. For travelers transitioning through LAX Airport our goal is to provide a unique lodging option--well preserved classical 50ties architecture ...Hollywood history...a two storey "inn" with tropical gardens--serene and tranquil. If you need opulence and modern and are ready to pay the room rates then we are not the best choice for you. However, if you like clean...fresh...fun...good continental breakfast...24 hr. Denny's Restaurant/Lounge,,,free Wi-Fi then we are a perfect fit..

This is a dog friendly hotel, check-in was efficient, friendly and knowledgeable. The room was clean, bathroom clean, very outdated decor. Room 130 near the check-in & check-out office with traffic from incoming airline employees, leaving guests, party goers, the noise was continuous all night. The real drawback is the rooms aren't soundproof, taking off and landing of the planes was 24/7.

Room Tip: Request for your rooms away from the front desk!

The staff and management receives with regrets guest's comments of a negative experience. International airports are on a 24 hour schedule. However, in the late night and early morning hours the area ACTUALLY does go "to bed". Remember if you expect to hear air plane noise...you will. We provide earplugs for the light sleeper. We understand our guests are in a unusual and unfamiliar setting...sleep can be disturbed.

Our receptionist was extremly rude and unfriendly. When we asked her a question she just didn't listen and gave us some standard answer. On top of that she gave us the wrong kind of room. Fortunatly the other receptionist was kind enough to change it. The location of this hotel is pretty bad. It's not a nice neighbourhood and you're not very comfortable walking around there. The rooms however were very clean and nice.

A rude staff member is unacceptable. Our apologies. Fortunately another staff person was able to provide you with the guest service we expect from all of our staff.
Interesting comment about the neighborhood...we are located between the Hilton and the Westin hotels...not a "nice neighborhood"?? Yes, all properties on Century Boulevard hotel row are very invested in providing security. The airport is a major commercial monetary investment for Los Angeles. The area has the lowest crime rate of the entire city. Of course, Is it important to be aware of your surrounding when travelling. However, to project an image of danger because of some mind set is unfortunate and misleading..

This hotel is very close to the airport and has a very reasonable price (about $80,-), which included breakfast. The reception is friendly and efficient. The rooms are outdated but ok and clean. the bathrooms are really outdated. A real drawback is that the rooms are not soundproof and landing and take off is a noisy 24 hour affair, when 747s or 777 depart the building is trembling which is not a surprise given the fact that it's only 500 or so meters from the treshold of the 25R/L Runways, just the point where these birds throttle up. Adding up to that is that we stayed at the streetside with trucks rumbling past by day and night.. we had a room on the upper floor with swimming pool view. which was kind of nice. It brought back a lot of memories travelling in th US, back in the seventies. The garden is small but intimate I liked it.

The continental breakfast is included and the staff is nice, the shuttle service to and from the airport was OK as well.

Room Tip: Be sure to book a room which is not on the upper floor and on street side (aviation Boulevard), this...

Thank you for your review of your stay with us. The hotel's architectural design is from the fifties...exterior and interior. However, the room amenities would not be defined as "outdated"...32 inch flat screen televisions; ergonomic desk chairs; bed linens, pillows and coverings; mattresses with pillow toppers; new carpets, lamps... Remember you are staying in a moderately priced hotel so if you expect to have a Jacuzzi in your room you will be disappointed. The rooms have a separate dressing area from the bathrooms. The counters, tile floors, showers size are all of the 21st Century. Soundproof...the guidelines provided by the airport for soundproofing have been implemented at the hotel. However, the wall of glass (even though double plated) does not block out all noise....especially at night when there actually is quiet...then a plane departs...the distance is 1/2 mile. The trade off for staying within 3 minutes of the airport is the possibility of noise regardless of the hotel you choose--earplugs are provided for light sleepers--an unfamiliar setting can also impact a person's' rest.

It's an older hotel though more like a Motel. The exterior architecture is interesting, 1960's "Modern". I love this style that is disappearing all too quickly in favor of the more modern concrete high rise, but I guess that's what people want. It's nothing like a five star hotel and the attached Denny's restaurant will give you an idea of the property. But still...it's rooms are clean and large. The pool is clean and inviting tough I never indulged. There are two convenience stores on the corner that have just about everything.
The airplanes taking off and landing can be a problem for the light sleeper but I chose this place based on the location to the airport and rental car return and this location can't be beat.

Thank you for submitting a review of your recent stay. Yes, location is important. What many guests discover when shopping hotel room rates that in the area of the tourist sites the cost is MUCH more than airport room rates. The airport is like the hub of a wheel and all tourist sites are within 45 minutes of the hotel...convenient transportation to the various locations while saving on lodging costs. Fortunately, we have 75% of our guests arriving from other parts of the world...regrettably within the United States we do not have an appreciation for the character of vintage style architecture. Everything has to be new...a building over 25 years of age is considered outdated and ready for the wrecking ball.

We spent our first two nights in US here. Our flight from Australia was due to land at 7.30 am. I had emailed and found we could check in any time from 9.30 am which was fine with us. As it happened our flight was delayed and we ended up landing at 5.15pm - yes lonnngggg day.
We phoned after we had collected our baggage, as advised, made our way to the shuttle stop and within 10 minutes we were on our way.
On arrival slight hiccup, they said our reservation had been cancelled.... huh?? I produced my email print outs of many contacts with them. No problem, we were accommodated in a Kiing Room, non smoking in the back block. A bit of a hike after a long flight but room was fine, good bed, desk, tv, fridge. Like the fact that the bathroom had an anteroom with dresser mirror, coffee maker.

The pool area was as shown on their website, central to the front blocks of rooms
We loved having Denny's attached, no walking to eat first night.
Next morning we had been told they provided shuttle to rental cars, well I guess they do but what they mean is they shuttle you to the rental car shuttle stop at LAX. which was no big deal, but was not explained beforehand.
There is a lot of coming and going here due to there "day stays" which if I needed one I would certainly take advantage of. I can't say we were disturbed by this but I guess light sleepers might be.
The only negative comment I would make about this motel is the small breakfast area, it is totally inadequate for the number of guests they have both in seating area and service. The breakfast offerings are fine, if you can actually get them. We got lucky the second morning and got a seat straight away. I am not a morning person, doubly so with jetlag, so I found the breakfast cattle crush offputting, I guess the answer would have been to forego the free breakfast offerings and hotfoot it to Denny's but I wasn't awake enough to figure that out !

We found all the staff at the front desk very helpful, in fact one lady, sorry I don't have her name, even used her phone to get information for us.

I would certainly stay here again. and recommend it to friends.

On behalf of the staff and management thank you for submitting a review of your recent stay with us. Unfortunately, the breakfast room can become crowded between 7:30 and 8:30 a.m. -- we have added a garden area as well as having the pool area available for guests to use. The issue did not exist until we added waffles, pancakes, sausages, and hot cereal to the menu. There is no additional area in which to expand seating for those occasions when many guests arrive at the same time. If a hot meal is wanted, Denny's 24 hour restaurant adjoins the hotel...now has full wine, beer, and cocktails service.
Location is top billing for us...next to metro line; minutes to freeways and airport terminals; area restaurants to which we provide transportation; car rental sites within waling distance or shuttle service is provided--and the room rates are moderately priced -- compare city and tourist area rates!!.
