“Good hotel for a early morning or late arrival flight”
Reviewed November 11, 2010

Location: Good for LAX. Shuttle is provided 24 hours with no fix schedule. It is a shared shuttle with the Marriott LAX and frequency is good.
Reception: This hotel has the newer designed modern reception area. Check in was fast and staff friendly.
Room: Typical Renaissance type room. Flat TV with good number of program selection. Bed was comfortable and windows sufficiently soundproofed from aircraft taking off.
Bathroom: Well sized with typical amenities.

In general, a good hotel and location. There is also a Concierge lounge which seems to be open even during the weekends with limited service. Only during the weekdays there are full lounge service. Though I did not try it, was glad to see that luckily not all lounges in the Marriott system are closed in the weekends. From my room, I had a view of the open air swimming pool and jacuzzi. Takes about 5 mins to reach the airport.

This was clean, upscale type of hotel. It rated at four stars but, I would give it about 3. The staff was helpful and friendly that is always a plus. I got a room on the 5th floor overlooking the back, (not a great view). Again, the room was kept well as was the rest of the hotel(good considering it's age). It was close to LAX and food places(it had a restaurant or two), and a casino. I got the rate by bidding well below the rate on priceline and was sure it would be rejected. To my surprise it was accepted. It is about what I would pay for this quality of hotel(worth the few dollars more than what I would have paid at homestead suites). Drawbacks, parking is between 24(self)-34(valet) USD. Or, park on the street if you can find a spot(I did). It is not included in the rate but, should be. Nor, is it mentioned in the hotel description. Most hotels in this area charge heavily for this. I would recommend it for location, cleanliness, and staff. Otherwise, with parking and high rate you could do better. Again, a very nice looking hotel otherwise.

I almost didn't stay at this property due to the previous negative reviews. I'm currently in Room 706 and have no complaints whatsoever. The room is nice and clean, quiet from nearby LAX noise, and the staff has been very responsive. The hotel is a little old meaning its not brand new but it is in very good condition. The bed mattress, pillows, and linens are exceptional; the bathroom is spotless. The room has new flat panel TVs with good HD signal rather than just digital that I get in a lot of properties. The fitness center has individual television screens at every station so you can watch TV if you need the distraction. No good restaurants nearby but that's not why you stay at an airport property anyway. Burger King across the street, but the famous Inn-n-Out burger about an easy half-mile stroll away. Would definitely stay here again, especially if I can get the two-week advance purchase rate. Free wi-fi in lobby only, otherwise a stiff fee...as expected.

Stayed here for a night as I had an early flight. Was a little nervous after reading some of the negative reviews but I shared none of their experiences. The hotel has a beautiful foyer, very nice restaurants and I found the staff helpful. The food in the restaurant, while a little pricey but was good eg Burger and fries and a beer cost me $20. The room was great, nice comfortable bed and i enjoyed watching the LCD TV. There were plenty of free channels to choose from on the TV. Bathroom was spotless. Caught the shuttle early to the airport in the morning with no dramas. Checked out with no problems over the phone as well. Will definitely stay again. Managed to get a deal for $94 per night with AAA card.

Got a small room at the end of a dead end hallway. Would easily be trapped if fire broke out in hallway. Got room on Priceline as a 4-Star hotel. Priceline failed to mention that self park is $25/day and more if valet park. Failed to mention that pool and jacuzzi is drained for repairs so no pool use on 90 degree+ days. Priceline also failed to mention internet use is $12.95/day or $.50/min in lobby with $3 minimum charge. Less than 1/2 of channels is HD on TV. A good number of channels have poor signal so barely watchable. No in room TV schedule for HBO. Had Priceline not already billed me, I would have packed up and went to the Four Points Sheraton next door.

I have received better amenities in 3 or 2 star Hotels. I have had better amenities and value at Courtyard Marriot properties. Marriot should be embarrassed to have their name associated with this hotel. It is extremely disappointing for a hotel of this caliber to nickel and dime their guests for every little thing. Even the business center computer had a credit card reader attached to the computers. How cheap can you be on a high-end 4-star hotel? For what guests are paying to stay here, you would think in room internet would be included as well as better satellite/cable subscription.

Overall, this was an average hotel with an average stay. I'd recommend it for it's great, close location to the airport. Check your bill very carefully, however. I had two charges that weren't mine (a bar/restaurant charge and an extra internet charge). The staff was hesitant to remove the charges, but they did.
