Renaissance is know to be upscale and have great service. Not here . The lobby is lovely as are the bar and restuarant. It's the some of the front desk personel and the filth in the room that changed my mind. I checked in and was given a room on the sixth floor. The decore in the halls and in the room it self were just ok with broken vents and dirty windows. In the bathroom there were brown and black spots on the walls and ceiling. My key didn't work and the maid was kind enough to let me in. I went back to the front desk and asked for a new key and told the young lady about the bathroom .She sent someone up to clean it promptly but this should never have been an issue in the first place. So while it's a conveinent location with good restuarants and shuttle to airport I would think twice before going back there

Room Tip: check your bill as they doubled bill me and only fixed it when I brought it to their attention

The recently refurbished Renaissance is a very good option for a short stay near LAX. The staff is always welcoming, there is live music in the lounge, and the Club level is very quiet.

Fitness facilities are very good and the hotel windows block out the airport noise.

My only complaint would be the parking expense.

We stayed for one night - arriving very late. Room was recently refreshed. Clean, comfortable beds. Great for a stay when you need to be close to the airport. We enjoyed a very good breakfast buffet in the concierge lounge (cereals, yogurt, fruit, egg and cheese croissants, pastries).
Only complaint was the LONG wait (45 min) for the complimentary hotel shuttle to pick us up from LAX at 1:30 in the morning. We were very tired from traveling.
Budget and Avis rental car lots are located across the street from the hotel - you could just take the Budge rental car shuttle and walk across the street instead of waiting for the Renaissance shuttle.

The LAX Renaissance has undergone needed renovations and is now beautiful again! The new carpets, bathrooms and decor create a wonderful chic feeling. As always the service was superb. Chris at the front desk was both friendly and efficient. We spend 200 nts a year in Marriott properties and this is one of our favorites.

This is the first time I've stayed here in over 10 years. I used to stay here overnight on business trips regularly. The hotel has been renovated since I was last here, but the basic layout was the same. The rooms were nicely updated. The bath fixtures were new and very well selected. The shower head was very powerful.

There were only a few deficiencies. The air conditioning was noisy. There were no towel racks. If it weren't for those two problems, I would have given it the top rating.

We got in late at night and needed something to eat and drink. The restaurant was closed, but the bar was open and we were able to get a beer and something to eat.

The front desk was friendly and the bar staff was very good. I will stay here again next time I need to layover in LAX.

I enjoyed my stay at the LAX renaissance. The staff was super friendly (which you don't always get in la). The room was very roomy, comfortable, and clean. The bed was most enjoyable with plenty of pillows to enjoy. The only negative was the hot water for showering was hit and miss. Would come and go in course of a shower. Strong wireless internet signal in the room and lobby. In-N-Out, Subway, and Burger King are close by. Also only a couple of blocks from the post office if needed.
