“MOCHI !!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 29, 2013

Found out the Mikawaya was the birthplace of Ice Cream Mochi .... WOW !!!!!
I buy ice cream mochi from asian supermarkets from time to time but nothing compares with the succulent, chewy, tasty ice cream mochi at Mikawaya. So glad that the founder decided to maintain a store for visitors despite her (yes it was a woman - retired grandmother now) ice cream mochis distributed to stores and supermarkets.

“Little Bites of Goodness”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 28, 2013

Mikawaya is the same company that makes mochi ice cream that's sold at Trader Joe's, but this store carries many flavors that you simply can't find anywhere else. Highly recommended are the mochilatos (mochi ice cream made with gelato). Guava and plum wine are among my favorites.

Be warned, this place is cash only.

“Great mochi with ice cream of many flavours”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 13, 2011

It was a first time eating mochi filled with ice cream. Cost around $1+ per piece and my personal favourite is the coconut flavour as you don't normally get this flavour very often. Good desserts option!
