This hotel might not be the most elegant hotel in the area, but if you are making a quick stay, this is definitely a good choice. If you want to be close to Little tokyo and some of the other nice areas, it's pretty easy to get around.
Just for example an uber to Little Tokyo is only $6-8. An Uber to Hollywoods walk of fame was $28. Little China was another $10 bucks. Can't beat that. And the food in the little areas was amazing, very authentic and a nice experience.
MORE ABOUT THE HOTEL: It is not close to the airport, so expect to pay around $50 to get to the hotel, their is no shuttle. The rooms are clean and the beds are the usual "excellent" beds you get from Hilton. The staff were great and the bell men were very helpful in getting around, cannot say anything bad about the hotel itself.....now the restaurant....
I would stay away only because my dinner experience was not good. The food was ok but overpriced, and the service was horrible. The following morning I had no choice but to eat breakfast there, and it was even worse. I should have gone to McDonalds. The service ruined everything for us because it was our evening at the hotel, and the morning we left the hotel...if you want to have dinner, I hope we just had a really bad 2x's and that yours will be great.

The location of Hilton Checkers Hotel is perfect! I was able to walk everywhere I wanted to go: The Broad, The museum of contemporary art, The Grand central market, Walt Disney concert hall etc. As a gold member I received a complimentary continental breakfast, which had a choice of pastries or toast/bagel, granola with yogurt, sliced fruit and coffee or tea. Very nicely presented and tasty! The dining room has real linen with white table clothes and napkins
which I appreciate! Overall this is a lovely hotel with helpful staff! Valet parking only.

Great friendly service and excellent accommodations. The digital key feature worked perfectly and we also enjoyed the roof top deck on the PH level. Brownies and ice cream from room service is the perfect way to end the night at the Checkers!

Again, another hotel which made our honeymoon even more special. We were given a high floor room, and the champagne and chocolate strawberries were delicious. We were given access to a small heated pool on the top floor. The breakfast was amazing, as were the staff. I would definitely stay here again.

The Hilton Checkers Downtown LA tries very hard to portray itself and convey to each guest a boutique "feel." However, this hotel is not boutique by any means with nearly 150 rooms on site. It does have a slightly more intimate feel in comparison to your grand hotels. But still, not boutique!Wanted to clear that one up right away for people.

I am a Hilton Diamond member and the hotel recognized my status and upgraded me into what was considered a Junior Suite. The room was bright and airy with plantation shutters. There was minimal view as all the suites are on floor 1 for some reason. They have an awkward seating area with 2 stiff chairs seated entirely too close to the additional tv. The bathroom was decent; all marble but your usual step in bathtub/shower combination you expect at a Holiday Inn.

The overall feel of the room was wonderful. Very old time Hollywood. Like this is where Audrey Hepburn or May West would have stayed I feel. The room is quiet too! Blocked out a lot of the noisy DTLA. The bed is FABULOUS! Dynamic night of sleep 100%

To summarize: I enjoyed the Hilton Checkers, but it was nothing overly exceptional. So 4 out of 5 circles.
