I am shocked that Bonvoy rates this hotel as Category 6 in their rating system. It needs a massive overhaul. Nothing is new or nearly new. I have to say that Renham was lovely, who works in the main lobby Lakeside Bistro. Otherwise the hotel is dreary and we couldn’t leave fast enough.

This place was amazing, it was very big, clean, close to everything you need in DTLA. They have a food court, a mini mart, salon, restaurants and bars.

Check in was easy, Lourdes assisted us and was generous enough to upgrade our double standard room to a king with with a fantastic view of the city. Thank you Lourdes, you were so helpful and nice!

The parking is $47 for parking on the premises which I thought was OUTRAGEOUS. You can park at the WTC structure for half the price or free at a meter on the weekends.

The revolving lounge for dinner and drinks was just perfect for a quiet and romantic time with my husband. The food was delicious and the cocktails were on point!

The brewery was lackluster but the bar downstairs was good too though a little pricey.

The rooms were clean, well stocked, ac worked great and the beds were so insanely comfortable.

The pool was clean with a great view of DTLA skyscrapers. You can pick up the phone they have there and order food and drinks poolside which, quick delivery. They brought us ice cold water without asking which was greatly appreciated. The staff was friendly and very accommodating!

Thank you for for such a great stay, we plan on coming back soon with our kids.

Stayed there 1 night and glad to leave. Here's a list of how not to run a top hotel.

1. Have an outdoor pool with a full list of drinks and food but have nobody there to take an order. Nobody there for the two hours we were there. Need security for the kids round the pool? Forget it.

2. Daughter wanted to order my wife breakfast in bed for her birthday while we were away. She rang reception from abroad to order it. Reception said "you have to do it through the web site".
Website was down.
Called back and they said "sorry, nothing we can do"
Daughter ordered breakfast to be delivered through Uber Eats.
Uber Eats arrived, reception rang up to day you can't have it delivered you'll have to come down to Reception to collect???

3. Checked out and made our way to what can only be described as the "cattle market" of valet parking. 25 minute wait...it would have been quicker to just get it myself for sure.

4. Complained to staff who just gave me the same answers as they were trained to do. Might as well have just spoken to a robot.

In conclusion I think the rot is at the top level of the Management. Nobody in there has a clue about customer care and service. There's obviously no commitment, no passion and no pride to give a customer an experience they'll remember and share.
It's really sad to see and I'd ask that if any of the staff are reading this, look for a better job guys because you can do better.
If managers and directors are reading this then may I suggest you book yourself into the La Quinta Resort in Palm Springs...they're attention to detail is outstanding...it will truly open your eyes to how you should be doing your job.

Will I go again?
No thank you.

Would I recommend.
No, sorry.

I think for business and possibly shopping this is a good location. It’s not got any sightseeing things in close proximity or walking distance particularly but it’s not too far by cab to universal studios, the observatory etc
Very large spacious and quite impressive lobby
Breakfast buffet approx $35 +tax + tip
It’s quite expensive and it’s not amazing. It’s good but I’ve seen better for that kind of money .
My room was spacious but I had a lift literally outside my window as they have glass lifts that are outside the building and you can hear them all the time!!! They are not outrageously noisy but it’s a constant rumble

My 1st pick for LA simply because of the service level. Coming from Las Vegas, the building is just a building - it’s not as Grand as perhaps it once was but it is well cared for, clean and easily accessible. The service however puts the hospitality Mecca of Las Vegas to shame! Lobby manager (Mario) - operations (Bonnie) - Valet manager (Ivan) - Buffet Manager (Audrey) and their teams will ensure you have a memorable stay in DTLA!
