“Big Picture-Yes”

Hi Travelers,
I loved the location, near the metro, near Staples Center, close walk to eateries if your budget does not always permit the in house restaurants. That being said, I had traveled east coast to west, tired, wanted to relax, but the reservation clerk struggled when I questioned why she was holding so much for incidentals? I then said that since I was on a limited expense account, and did not factor that in (when I asked upon reserving what would be held on my card, they said nothing, pay in the manner of your choosing upon arrival), she could barely mask her frustration with me. I get that A-listers may stay there, and this mere government worker didn't impress her, but I shouldn't be able to tell that. I asked if I could use another card for the incidental hold, she said sure, she went on to process the entire amount incidentals included on the card that was holding the reservation. She replied I can't take 2 forms of payment, but if you choose to use another card, that's fine, the money being held on the one charged would be reimbursed by the following Wednesday(takes 3 business days to process). but Wednesday was my departure date and then she could hold incidentals on the newly submitted card. Ummmmm, anyone would therefore know that would do me absolutely no good, basically tying up funds on 2 cards at this point. She could care less, I asked for a nice view, but I guess passive/aggressive tendencies took over and I overlooked some smoke stacks with buildings blocking any semblance of a view. And no folks, it wasn't because it was filled to capacity, my coworker arrived 2 hours later and had a spectacular view! Other than that, enjoyed the work out room, for breakfast I had the best frittata ever with Nick as my server in one of their restaurants, forget the name, but Nick is the best server with an absolute great sense of humor, he more than made up for the lukewarm clerk the night before! Very comfy beds, clean rooms, and good conference site.

Room Tip: Ask for one that does not have a view of the outside elevators, going up & down all day, because...

This hotel is breath taking. One of its elevators was used in the filming of "True Lies" which is very neat. The loby area has tons of water effects and the pool area would be perfect for a prom. We had a hard time finding things though everything goes in a circle which is beautiful but confusing. Overall it was very nice with extremely helpful and nice staff.

Stayed at the Westin Bonaventura for an overnight visit to Los Angeles for an interview. I would say that the hotel is okay for a short stay where you dont spend much time there.
Pros: Nice lobby. Bar is well stocked and has a nice selection of bottled beers no tap). Restaurant has a very reasonable ala carte breakfast menu which works if you dont want to load up on the buffet. Everyone was very nice and helpful.
Cons: the rooms. Small and jammed in there. The bathrooms are barely serviceable. TIny and uncomfortable bathrooms with water pressure in the shower that is so low, it is like getting drooled on. also: I asked for a quiet room and, instead, got a room with a view of the highway (that I could hear all night). Not sure if the staff got the idea of "quiet room". maybe there are no quiet rooms at the hotel. perhaps they should find out.

If you are staying for longer than a night or 2, choose somewhere else. otherwise, the hotel is convenient to everything downtown LA.

We checked in on a Friday night and stayed until Sunday. We loved the hotel and the all it had to offer. Location was key for us as we were in LA for the Pink concert, it was very close to the Staples Center and we easily walked back after the concert. The room was very good with a super comfortable bed, we were on the 28th floor and could see the Hollywood sign from our room. Had a problem getting Wifi in the room but it was very easy to get once we were in the lobby, the lobby bar was a great way to relax and have some drinks after a long day shopping at the Citadel and the Grove. Ordered room service on the saturday night and it was very fast hot and the food was great. We really enjoyed this hotel and would go back anytime we have to be in LA,

Room Tip: Ask for a higher floor facing the Hollywood sign.

I have spent 2 nights in a hotel. Hotel is situated realy down town, close to the Convention center and Staples arena.

Despite they rate it 5*, it does not earn this mark. Hotel has seen better times. Yes, it is clean and rooms are nice, but does in any way deserves the rate this hotel charges for night. It is overpriced big time.

Breakfast was nice, but again to costly for the offering. They had good selection of fuits, but they were all tastles (pure water). Also one remarl - bars at the hotel close very early, which is also not normal for 5* hotel.

When I am next time in LA, I will definitely not use this hotel, unless the price goes 50 - 60% down.

Beds and location make this one worthwhile. The fitness center was nice but frigid. Any request was handled w prompt courtesy. The beds were extremely comfortable. Its close to many good restaurants and shopping.
