Come here to be transpoted back to the 1920s with the opulence and glamour of old Hollywood. Luxury public rooms, ballrooms, swimming pool and endless fascinating photos. You strongly feel the heritage and get a sense of how it all began. The bedrooms don't live up to the public areas, how could they, but are perfectly serviceable.

Room Tip: Dont try and get coffee before 7am!

Only stayed one night so can't comment much on food or service. But I will definitely stay here again when I'm in LA. I loved the old, historic feeling of the hotel. It has a grand, magnificent feel, charm & character which not many hotels, esp chains can match. One of the best experiences I can remember from a downtown hotel.

Vast andwell placed hotel with lots of facilities but expencive if you just want a bed for the night.Staff are impersonal but helpful when pushed.not much in way of tourist info in hotel, just a couple of maps of downtown.Use the cabrank outside the hotel rather than have them call you one as it can cost$4 to get out the hotel. Also try the yorkshire grill on grand/6th for a nourishing but cheap breakfast

The Los Angeles Biltmore is a monument to Hollywood's glory days - the Crystal Ballroom is unbelievably beautiful and the site of the original Oscar Awards - while the rest of the public rooms are a museum to another era. That alone is worth the price of admission. But added to that, this is a hotel where the staff understands that the customer comes first. Everyone, from the front desk clerks, to the bellmen, to Martha, the wonderful concierge, couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. The hotel works because the manager, Wanda Chan understands how a hotel is supposed to work. It's true that the Biltmore is downtown, which is not necessarily fashionable. It's also true that the hotel Internet system is archaic (you have to re-log in every 24 hours, and most guests get charged for it, which should not happen). But then, after seeing the public rooms, and discovering the swimming pool, and dealing with the extremely well trained staff, you realize that there are very few hotels in LA with the Biltmore's pedigree. This is a terrific place to stay./ Jeffrey Robinson

This is an hotel with lots of facilities. We chose it for its location as it is in reach of the Metro Underground and for shopping and sightseeing. Famous people have stayed there and so it has lots of history attached to it.

Room Tip: Try and ask for a room with a view to the front of the building.

Beautiful hotel with history and excellent staff. Bathrooms could use updating. Stayed on executive floor with outstanding complementary buffet in the morning and evening wine and cheese at happy hour. Excellent service. Showing wear in a few spots but atmosphere is worth it!

I have stayed at this hotel Multiple times as it is the only preferred hotel for my company in downtown LA. You enter the hotel to the grand view of the lobby, but once you get out of the elevators on your room floor it turns ghetto pretty quick. Run down old maroon carpet, with pieces of maroon duct tape every 2 steps to cover the holes. This property certainly needs an uplift on places other than the lobby. Room furtniure is old as well with still black box TV's in a number of rooms as well.

The restaurant with the breakfast buffett is very nice and the asian place is average. Location is central for downtown LA which itself is not a special place to be in. Walk-able to most businesses and a short cab to LA Live area.
