“Superb! Top to Bottom”
Reviewed March 13, 2012

My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at the Luxe Sunset for five days. From the moment we arrived we were completely impressed by the amenities and the incredible staff. We travel a lot for business and it's always great to see an establishment that reinforces the importance of a guests' experience through the professionalism of their staff. We had a great room up on the spa level with a semi private terrace with a long range view looking south east. Beautiful linens, wonderfully comfortable bed, comfy sitting area and a fantastic well appointed bathroom with double granite sinks, bathtub and a separate large glass shower enclosure. Plush robes and towels and an abundance of high quality toiletries were placed throughout the bathroom. Other hotels in the L.A. area charge 2 to 3 times more for this level of luxury and I truly believe this gives the Luxe an edge on an extremely competitive business in this town. I was in and out all day long and never waited more than 60 seconds for my car as their valet staff is always properly staffed with more than required number to be ready for rushes that can occur at any moment especially when there is daytime event at the hotel.
The bar and restaurant are also very well appointed and as usual, staffed with top notch personnel and the food was sumptuous. We didn't get a chance to enjoy the spa but the pool area was very well located with lots foliage and south of France style cabanas for when you need to get out of the sun.
Overall we would give the Luxe Sunset Boulevard Hotel a 12 out of 10 and we will definitely be back the next time we are in L.A.

I was invited to Sunday jazz brunch (11-3pm) hosted by WaveFM so I decided to stay at the Luxe. The rooms were large, quiet and close to the atrium's dining area. The conceirge arranged late check out from a room close by the atrium. Everyone at the Lux was first class and nothing was too much trouble. The brunch was superb. As I wasn't flying out from LA until midnight, we partied on with Evander Holyfield and his friends and folks from CBS et al, and we tried the new product line he's launching. .

Dear velkytatry,

Thank you for your recent review of our Sunday Brunch here at Luxe Sunset Boulevard. We have been partnering with the WAVE radio station and have found the excitement surrounding brunch has increased more than two fold. Our Chef and his team really make it special and featured guests and new music every week push it over the top. We hope you continue to come for brunch and consider staying the night.

This is an ideal place if you are stopping over in LA, as we were, en route from New Zealand to the UK. You arrive disorientated because you've reached LA before you left NZ, to be met by the most wonderfully friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is on two levels tucked into a tree-covered hillside. Below are the restaurant, bar, conference facilities and rooms for people who want to be closest to these. We chose the higher level because of the pool and our room opened on to a little terrace from which you cross the grass and get to the pool which is beautifully planned, surrounded by loungers and palm trees. The warm water was bliss. The Getty Center is just up the road and a charming driver takes you there for free and you ring when you want to return. We ate very well in the hotel; our only gripe was that the bar had run out of snacks for both nights we were there. When we got home we found we'd left a package behind and the executive housekeeper couldn't have been more obliging in arranging to send it on to us. I know the US is famed for friendly service compared with the UK, but the staff here were really special - completely focused on making sure that guests had a good time.

We didn't stay overnight, but we did have a spa day here and that includes use of the facilities. The pool and pool area were very small, but (fortunately), it wasn't too crowded. The terry covered cushioned lounge chairs under the white cabanas were amazing! What a nice spot to have lunch after spa treatments! The only downsides are small: (1) the only restroom is inside the gym next to the spa; (2) spa waiting area is tiny; (3) you can call in your food order from the poolside phone, but once it's delivered, the waiter disappears and doesn't come back to check on you or for refills. Still, we had a wonderful time!

Room Tip: If you come for spa treatments, you are welcomed to use the pool. And you can get a robe and locker...

Dear la_jazz_girl,

Thank you for your recent visit to our pool and spa. I hope you have the opportunity to stay overnight so you can fully experience the hotel and all we have to offer. As you noted, Room Service currently covers the food and beverage service at the pool but from May-October this area is staffed every day by dedicated servers who assist with every aspect of your visit.

We hope to see you again soon and thank you again for your thoughtful comments.

I stayed at the Luxe Feb 14th-19th 2012 with 2 girlfriends for a wonderful girls trip. After months of researching hotels I couldn't be happier with our choice. I could rave for pages about how truly wonderful our stay was. The staff was polite, courteous and helpful. By the end of the stay we felt like the valet guys we're our friends. They were awesome. The front desk was more than accommodating every time we called down for anything. Our room was so spacious, clean and exactly as the pictures showed (2 full size beds) It was newly renovated and had all the space we needed. As 3 women you can imagine how much stuff we had! Hotel was peaceful and quiet. The location was centralized for seeing all areas of LA.(We went all over from Santa Barbara, Culver City, Burbank to Pasadena). While the construction was not great, it caused us no problems (other than normal LA traffic). Would stay here again in a heartbeat. Thanks Luxe!

I just stayed 3 nights (Feb. 2012). Everyone at every level was extremely friendly, which made a difference to my stay in LA. The food was also a surprise. The pumpkin ravioli and chopped salad were unbelievably good, like 5 star good. Another great thing was a FREE private car ride to and from anywhere within about 10 minutes. You just call them up, and they send someone out right away to pick you up, or to take you where ever you wish to go. That is service!! I agree with some of the other writers about the views, nothing to write home about. But, for me, it was quiet, and my room was great, clean, nice amenities. My one complaint was my tv, which was kind of small and no HD. I watched the oscars and was a bit frustrated with that. Everything else really was great.

Our organization has been hosting almost monthly community events for the last 4 years. While we occasionally use other venues, our organization as well as our guests overwhelmingly prefer the Luxe Hotel Sunset. From the first contact to arrange the event, to driving up to the valet and the staff helping with your event, everything is perfection. After our first event, the staff almost intuits your needs. The venue is gorgeous. The acoustics is excellent - whatever you need they can make happen. From small events of 50 to 450, the service is great. Guests can have dinner or drinks before or after. When we have speakers come in from out of town, we always put them up at the Luxe and they love it. It is centrally located and easy to get to. We have never been disappointed and enthusiastically recommend the Luxe Hotel Sunset.
