“Clean hotel, but not the room carpet.”
Reviewed December 16, 2013

Good hotel, Location near subway, free parking, free wi-fi but is working not well, free breakfast (but only juice, coffe and bread n jam) pillow and towel smell not very clean.
Small breakfast room - limited sitting , sometimes can hear ambulance hooter from opposite medical centre.
The price is ok .

Great hotel and location. Good value for money and easy to get to local buses or the metro if you are not driving round LA. There are shops including a supermarket within walking distance. The rooms were very clean and staff were very friendly and helpful. If you want a good hotel in LA but don't want to spend a fortune then this is a great choice.

Interesting to read all the negative comments here, but I can only say good things about my stay here. I stayed for 8 nights during the first week of November and found no problems whatsoever.

The staff were polite and helpful. The rooms were clean and tidy every day. Breakfast was simple, but at least you get a choice and you can help yourself...! Also, it was available from 6am so if you eat early, then you get more of the day to see things...!

Location was great - a few minutes walk away from Vermont Sunset metro station (for those travelling without a car) and buses going to Downtown LA or Santa Monica ran from outside the station as well.

There was a shopping area just past the metro station and the shop 'Jons' provided everything you'd need - food, drink, toiletries, etc. I also passed a Wendy's which was a bit further down past the hospital.

The noise of the ambulances didn't bother me, but I was on the ground floor a few doors away from the reception. Might be a problem for some people, but I didn't find it a problem.

The room had it's own shower-room, store cupboard (with a safe), fridge, microwave, bed and a TV....what more do you need? It's really more of a place to rest your head after a busy day, and not where you would want to hang out all day...though there is pool as well!

If you are on a budget, looking for somewhere simple, clean and friendly to stay then I can recommend it. Just my views, but I had 8 great days there and would certainly stay there again.

Room Tip: I stayed on the ground floor, a few doors away from reception.

I stayed in this hotel in November 2013 for three nights and was given a very neat and spacious room on the first floor. As has been previously mentioned, it is located beside a hospital so the sound of sirens is pretty much ongoing, however a set of ear plugs sorts that problem out. I found the breakfast to be very good, it's simple, but certainly sufficient. If you are looking to save some money, there is a good supermarket located the other side of the hospital and the hotel provides a microwave and fridge, which was very convenient. The location is made okay by the fact it is so close to a railway station. My biggest issue was the fact that I asked the man at the front desk to book me a taxi to the airport. I was surprised to discover a ca express limo waiting for me the next morning. Needless to say it was ridiculously expensive and I can only conclude that the hotel has some sort of financial arrangement with them. As well, the front desk seems to like to try and sell you tours, but I did not take them up on any of the offers.

I have accidentally left things in the hotel room "twice" and never found them back.
The hotel managers doesn't care about our lost properties which we left in the room, just ask us to confirm with the housekeepers, then they claimed they didn't find or see anything. How can the cleaning lady never found them as they should be the one who first found it while they clean the room? I'm pretty sure my belongings are in the room. I think the answer is pretty obviously.
The attitude of the hotel about this is very perfunctory and careless, and I'm very angry about the hotel policy of "lost and found" is remissness just "confirming with the housekeeper", if they don't see it, then it is not there. They show no responsibility of guests' lost.

Please note that we have a procedure which we follow when a Guest(s) forgets their belonging(s) inside the room. We have a “Lost and Found Log,” which the Housekeeping staff uses in front of the manager whenever they come across a left behind belonging by the guest(s) and unfortunately we did not find anything in the room or in the “Lost and Found Log.” We informed same to the guest.
