We stayed for 4 nights and thought this property offered a good location with reasonable service.

When we arrived at 10.00 pm, no one was at Reception and a number of staff walked past us without stopping to enquire if we were being looked after. Eventually, a receptionist came from behind the wall. Some reviewers have described some of the staff as a little pompous and pretentious at this property - I would agree that this could be said for the male reception staff.

The bedding was way too soft and cloudlike for my liking, but that is a personal preference.

The property is in a good location for travelling anywhere in Los Angeles. Of course, the proximity to the Beverly Shopping Center across the road, is ideal.

On our last night, we called Concierge and asked if she could recommend any good restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. She said she had a list of them which she sent straight up to the room. It was called "Restaurants within walking distance of the Hotel." We wished we'd had that list at the commencment of our stay. Why not put that in the room's compendium? Anyhow, she was very good in booking one of those restaurants for us at very short notice.

Breakfast was average, food OK and service good.

Taxis were always available as they were called from the rank outside the Beverly Center.

Overall, not bad but not WOW!

Room Tip: Don't think it really matters too much so I wouldn't stress too much about the room choice.

We ended up our driving the Pacific Hwy trip in LA with only hotel reservations for the Fairmont in San Francisco. We made reservations as we drove and decided on the Sofitel. It was a nice hotel, we had a good view (complete with the Hollywood sign) a comfy bed and nice/modern bathroom. The food and bar was great also. The hotel is very close to the tourist things to do (Robertson Blvd- The Ivy- Rodeo Drive, El Captain Theatre, Walk of Fame, etc....)

We stay at mostly four and five star hotels, and Sofitel Beverly Hills easily held its own against the Ritz, Omni, Luxe, etc. LOVE the beds/pillows and the 10th floor patio rooms are lovely. Hermes toiletries, outstanding room service selection/taste/delivery/presentation, fabulous location...what more can I say? We would absolutely stay there again, no question!

Room Tip: Splurge on a 10th floor King room with a patio if you're on vacation with your honey - so luxurious! Note - there is a window into the shower from the bedroom (and vice versa) so def not a good choice for people with kids.

We really enjoyed our stay at Sofitel earlier this month! Our room was comfortable with a great view of the hills and the hotel was within walking distance of shopping (The Beverly Center, Target, Loehmann's, etc.), restaurants and coffee shops. The outdoor pool was small but offered enough space to lounge around and enjoy the sunshine. We ordered room service on one of the nights and it was delicious! It arrived on a beautiful tray with flowers and a bread basket. Overall the service was great, the staff was friendly and the hotel was clean and pleasant! The front desk agent even gave my son a Sofitel teddy bear when she greeted us for our stay. That was a nice touch!

Tip: If you get one of the rooms that has a window looking out from the bathroom to the bedroom, make sure that you flip the switch so that the window turns "opaque" before you shower. ;)

Room Tip: Request a view of the hills!
