Review of Hatfield's

Hatfield's

Restaurant details
Good for: Romantic
Dining options: Dinner, Full Bar, Reservations, Seating, Serves Alcohol, Waitstaff
Dining style: Casual Elegant
Neighborhood: Central L.A
Cross street: Citrus
Description: Quinn Hatfield's deft touch in the kitchen shines through on his short but dead-on, market-fresh menu. Appetizers are playful: Fabulously fleshy charred octopus is offset by a citrus-candied orange rind, and an updated croque madame features fresh hamachi, along with proscuitto, quail egg and out-of-this-world brioche. Main courses are uniformly excellent, be it juicy pan-roasted seabass, meaty duck breast that eats like a steak, and luscious, mint-crusted rack of lamb. For desserts, Karen Hatfield outdoes herself with the molten-centered house specialty chocolate peanut butter truffle cake, which is worth every decadent calorie its name promises.

Order the "Croque-Madame". You will then know what heaven feels like.
All in all, this restaurant is phenomenal, by the way.

“Superior Dining Experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 22, 2012

I rarely give 5 stars to a restaurant. This is an exceptional restaurant, it combines excellence in food, ambiance and service. I had a tasting menu and my husband had an appetizer (the famous Croque Madame and a main course (lamb encrusted with dates and mint). I really don't need to go into detail what I had to eat because dishes are seasonal and will probably not appear at a later date. What I can say, is that if you like the ingredient, you WILL love the dish. The food is terrific, every bite. The ambiance is modern, gorgeous, comfy, quiet and perfect. The service is knowlegeable and good, no rushing here. We spent 1 1/2 hours and $150. The whole experience was totaly worth it.

“Worth it for a special occassion”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 18, 2012

They started us off with excellent fresh bread and an Amuse Bouche. You cannot go wrong with that. We took the recommendation of others and ordered the Croque Madame, which was pricey ($29) but delicious. Particularly noteworthy in our foursome was the mint cucumber vodka gimlet ($22), cauliflower, lamb chops. duck, and short ribs. We also enjoyed a good selection of attractive and delicious desserts.
The service was friendly and attentive.

“Five Star Dining in LA-Perfection!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 16, 2012

First class, high end restaurant with impeccable service. Well appointed and designed space. Food is first rate and never disappoints-even after several trips to this venue. The waiters take their time and explain in detail the various dishes and help you design your meal. My girlfriend, a world traveler, found cocktails at Hatfield's that she had never seen served outside of their native countries. Hatfield's is a classy and satisfying dining experience.

“Great Food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 25, 2012

Had the 3 course pre-set menu. Good variety in the tastes and perfect portions for a multi-course meal. On the expensive side, but great ambiance. Enjoyed watching the kitchen staff behind the glass. Definitely make reservations.
