I stayed here since my company Christmas party was at the Skirball. It is about a $17 - $20 cab fare to Skirball. Check in was fast and effiecient however, it was also a breach of security, "ok Mr surname, your room number is XXX!" Having majored in hotel management that is the one thing you do not do is announce the room number.
I had a King Study although I think I got a regular king room 428. The bedding was very comfortable. I was suprised a business hotel did not have stationary in the room. If you turned all they lights on in the room it looked like a checkerboard. Some lights were garish white others had a yellowish tint to them. Bathroom was nice and roomy. The sink is outside the bathroom.
I loaded the car up in the 5 AM hour. Do not make the mistake of doing that. You can get out the front doors but cannot get back in. I had to pry the doors open to get back in as no one was covering reception.
Saturday afternoon about 4:30 I called down to the desk...twice and both time the phone rang 20 times and no answer. I finally had to physically go down stairs and talk to the desk since they refuese to answer the phone.

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback regarding our hotel. We apologize for the inconvenience that you had to encounter during your stay.

I would like to apologize on behalf of the hotel and its team for your stay. Our standard procedure at check in is to keep the room number secret for no one to hear for your protection. Also, I am certainly dissapointed that their was no one at the front desk early in the morning when you were not able to get in. We usually close the doors at night to keep the hotel safe. I will make sure to speak to the front desk agents to let them know that they need to be more careful and watchful during their shifts and that this also includes the phone switchboard because we do need to make sure that all calls are answered emmediatley.

Once again please do accept our apologies and I do hope that you will give us another chance in the future. We wish you the best wishes for the upcomming holidays.

Thank you.

I stayed at the Hampton inn last year when I came to LA. It was a great location and offered what any budget traveler needs in a very expensive city. Free breakfast and free parking. I was so pleased that I came back this year in November. No complaints this year either. Although the breakfast was lacking with choice and refills. Ok guess I am complaining. Either way the location is close to all of the attractions one would want to see. I have to agree the area is not the greatest but I was not going out for a power walk at 1am. Plus the staff was great and my boyfriend enjoyed the fitness room.

We just finished a three day stay at this hotel and it was our third stay here. Everything was absolutely fine for our neerds and a special kudo to Jessica, the night receptionist. The room with the king size bed is large with plenty of space to put suitcases, etc. The bathroom is also very adequate and, very importantly for us, has plenty of counter and shelf space for all of my wife's "necessities"! Since we last stayed here in July they appeared to have upgraded the tv's, as we actually had HD on our large flat screen. Most hotels have flat screens, but they usually are not in HD, which gives a fuzzy picture. Nice upgrade! As others have noted, breakfast is very adequate and there were some changes from day to day. My only negative comment is that the exercise room is quite small and had only 3 pieces of equipment plus some dumbbells. A couple more pieces would be nice. A final comment, most people are unaware that a 5 minute walk across Sepulvada and across the 405 gets you to a park that has some walking trails and nature overlooks. I've been there twice and enjoyed it both times!

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the back of the hotel as it is quieter and away from the traffic on Sepulvada.

Stayed here a couple of nights because it was close to family we were visiting. I found the hotel to be clean and pleasant, the beds comfy, the amenities satisfactory. The breakfast in the morning was convenient and just fine for a serve-yourself deal. If you go too late they'll be out of some things, but that's to be expected. Target is right across the street so that's great if you've forgotten things. The neighborhood is kind of dicey, but I walked over to Target a couple of times in the dark and didn't feel unsafe. Staff were very nice and friendly. Pool was fine for kiddies to have a good time splashing around in. Nothing extraordinary, but it fit exactly what we needed. We had no trouble with parking, but maybe it was a quieter time of year.

Room Tip: Front side faces the freeway, but backside is quiet. We did have an elephant with bowling balls for...

I would have rated this Hampton Inn with a higher score, but the anemic internet speed was very frustrating. In 2012 there's a certain expectation for the speed of internet access, and this hotel falls woefully short. Normal web pages took far too long to load (if they even completed at all) and forget about trying YouTube, Skype, or downloading anything - it's not going to happen. I tried to test the speed (just curious) at speedtest.net, but the site was so slow it returned an error. You may notice there are no replies from the management to reviews here on Tripadvisor.com - I wonder if it's because they can't access the internet to read them?!! But enough about the internet access - this hotel was nice otherwise, with clean and fairly well updated rooms and common areas. The breakfast was good quality and well attended. The bed was comfortable and the room had a large HDTV. The shower had great pressure. Parking is somewhat limited, and the hotel provides a complimentary valet parking service when it fills up. If I were in the area again, I would choose a different property due to the internet speed issue. If having online access is something you will need during your hotel stay, you will probably want to look elsewhere.

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback regarding our hotel. I want to apologize for the inconvenience that you had to go through during your stay.

On behalf of the hotel we are very sorry that you had slow internet during your stay with us. We have very high standards when it comes to the emenities here with us and to find out that the internet was slow is very dissapointing to us. Once in a great while here at the hotel we sometimes do have to restart our router in order to fix this minor problem. From here on out I will make sure to do this as a priority in order to not have this problem in the future. Also, I am very pleased that you liked our service and breakfast we take great pride in our service.

I will make sure to print out a memo for all front desk members to restart our router during early morning hours about twice a month to avoid any problems with internet connections.

Once again please do accept my apologies and I do hope that this stay wont effect your future stays with us.

Average Hampton Inn, great location in the Valley in midst of challenged neighborhood. While I would not have ventured out on foot from the hotel in the evenings, I felt comfortably safe at this hotel. As another reviewer commented the parking was quite challenging - one evening my car was "valeted" somewhere else because all of the very limited parking was filled. The staff were exceptionally attentive, business center (single computer/printer) worked well but slow. Very friendly, welcoming, everything in my room was in good condition and the air conditioning worked well.

Thank you so much for the feed back regarding our hotel and its staff. I'm certainly dissapointed that your stay was not all that it could have been.

I would like to apologize on behalf of all of us here. Are parking lot usually does get full on sold out nights. I'm also very sorry that the business centers internet was slow during your stay. I understand that this can be very fustrating because a business center should be up and running to its full potential. I am pleased to know that our staff was very welcoming and friendly and that our air conditioning was working well especially with the hot weather that we've been having.

To make up for the parking we make sure to have our complimentary valet ready to make it easier for our guests especially at night so guests dont have to park out in the street. As for our internet in the business center we recently upgraded to Wi-fi this past Thursday in order to have it running fast the way it should be.

We would like to thank you again and please accept my apologies and I sure do hope you have a great day.

We had a great night's sleep. They had the most comfortable pillows of any hotel! I'm very picky, and usually bring my own, but couldn't this time. Nice bed, and clean duvet. We had a loud walker above us, but that's always a risk at any hotel. Everything seemed new and top notch. They had a great breakfast too. As far as the air conditioner, it did seem to creep up. I think the trick is to set the temperature, and turn on "fan" instead of "auto."
