Owner description: The Los Angeles Convention Center attracts millions of visitors annually and is renowned internationally as a prime site for conventions, trade shows, and exhibitions. Located in the cultural, business, and entertainment mecca of Downtown Los Angeles, the LACC is an integral economic component of the Southern California area, and remains an enduring symbol of environmental sustainability and social responsibility for our community. First opened to the public in 1971, the LACC has since undergone modernization and expansion; as a testament to our continuous effort to enhance our facility and services, the LACC is embarking on its fourth phase of renovation under AEG’s management this year. The year-long transformation will enhance both functionality and aesthetics of the LACC, and will include replacing existing carpet, installing the latest energy-efficient products such as “cool roofs” and new air handling units, completely remodeling the theatre, and upgrading IT infrastructure and operating systems throughout the Center.

“Huge Venue”
Reviewed December 22, 2011

Attended the Anime Expo there and the place was humongous. I was there for four days and still don't think I got through every nook and cranny of the place. Connects to a small strip mall with bars and restaurants and at night reminds you of New York or Tokyo due to the lights.

“Has many good events”
Reviewed November 18, 2011

I went to Girltopia, Green Festival and Blog World Expo at the Convention Center, parked farther away and saved $6 or more.
It's only 20 minutes or so from Westside so I'd go back if there's an event that I like.

“What a Great Transformation”
Reviewed August 18, 2010

The entire area around the convention center has changed - for the better. The LA Live concept has brought in restaurants, clubs, bars and even the Lucky Strike bowling alley. The JW Marriott and Ritz Carlton along with the reflagged former Holiday Inn just a block away create the hotel package sorely needed. The addition of downtown residential living is also a much needed improvement. If you haven't seen it, you are in for a treat.

“Don't have your convention here.”
Reviewed June 25, 2010

Unfortunately, an event I attend every year is stuck on this venue. There is nothing convenient about using the LA Convention Center, not access, not parking, no hotels anywhere near the place. It is surrounded by the scariest barrio looking neighborhoods. No good food service onsite or near.
Also, WARNING they hold citizenship events here where thousands of immigrants swarm the facility- that is fine but you don't want your event here at the same time. You don't want your event here no matter what!
