The higher per ticket price is a bargain because of the value for the dollar... you get so much more: wide clean seats, tasty food, the ad-free previews, and assigned seating just to name a few.

“Worth every dime”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 10, 2013

The price of a movie is slightly higher at ArcLight, but the experience is far more elegant. If the movie experience is true entertainment, them you'll appreciate choosing your seat, the real buttered popcorn, lounge in the lobby and well-trained employees.
If you're in the Pasadena theater, don't forget to have your parking validated.

“Excellent Cinema”

Theres nothing like going to the cinema in Hollywood, the sheer size of the place was impressive. The seats were extremely comfortable and the screens were well layed out. The butter popcorn is a must by the way.

“Sherman Oaks ArcLight”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 4, 2013

I actually prefer the Hollywood ArcLight more specially when it comes to midnight showings since they have the Dome but considering the Sherman Oaks one is the closest ArcLight to my place. I've seen more movies here. Granted, I bumped to more celebrities on the Hollywood ArcLight location (Robert Downey Jr., Cameron Diaz, Demi Lovato, etc.)

Like most people already said, it IS expensive. But for a person who is almost never on time. The reserve sitting really is a lifesaver. I don't need to line up and be worried about getting crappy seats. That, and if you buy your ticket online they give you a grace period of another '6 minutes' even after the movie has started. :)

One thing about this location is that if you do general parking, it's quite a bit of a walk to the movie theater. The theater is on the top of the complex (you'll pass by Starbucks, Cheese Cake Factory, 24 Hour Fitness, Spa, etc.) However, if you use the valet services, you are pretty much just two escalators away.

Btw, if you sign up as a member, they take $1 off your ticket price and you get points for your ticket/food purchases. They also do 21+ screenings (booze + movies = goodtime!) and on special showings actors and directors drop by (at least in Hollywood) to promote/introduce their movies.
