This is a great little hotel, right on the beach with lovely welcoming & helpful staff.

The rooms are all well appointed & the facilities are great.

By far it's best asset is its location, which is literally on the beach.

My wife and I stayed here last June.
Booked late as was on drive down from San Fran but struck gold here!!
Parked right at the back of hotel for free, beautiful morning view of Venice beach.
Room was lovely, suite at back with large balcony and flat screen in bedroom & lounge. Massive comfy bed. Lovely big bathroom.
Minimal breakfast(tea coffee and pastries) but plenty of options around the neighbourhood.
Nice roof terrace sun trap!!
Staff we're very helpful on local knowledge, taxi & restaurant bookings!!
Hired bikes from just round the corner and went down to Santa Monica pier.
Perfect for LA beach base.
Loads of bars n food places within walking distance.
Can travel into Hollywood/sunset in about 40/50 mins although traffic dependant.
Also for those that have never been(and from London).. Venice beach is like Camden town/V festival and baywatch all rolled into one!!
Enjoy

Room Tip: Get lucky with the parking out back!!!

We recently stayed 3 nights at this hotel. We were looking for a reasonable price on the beach.the location allowed us to do certain touristy things all within about a 40 minute car ride so all in all a great location. We enjoyed that the Pier and the bike riding along the boardwalk were close by.We also enjoyed people watching out in the front patio area of the hotel . Although the roof top patio was a lovely location to watch the sun set a few bar patio furniture tables and chairs would be an awesome alternative to the not very comfortable bench type seating that is presently there .

Also as travellers by air we did not have beach towels or beach chairs with us so having those available for the guests to sign out would also be a welcome addition. As it was we really could not enjoy the beach without these items and had just arrived from a hotel in Carlsbad that had these available to guests .

We found the rooms were very small as was the bathroom and bathroom sink but the shower was surprisingly large.

There were less parking spaces than there were rooms but we were lucky to have a space for our car each night.

Breakfast was bagels , juice coffee some fruit and cereal but no place to eat it unless you used the front patio tables .

Staff were friendly and hotel was clean.

Lots of choice for restaurants within walking distance and a Starbucks nearby

Loved this small run hotel right on beach. Found it very peaceful and so glad it was at the far south end of Mussle Beach(went there to have quick look at the colourful area but not my thing) Parking was great. Only one night did I have to park over on Pacific but not a big deal. Lovely beach and was so nice to face the Ocean and hear the waves. No better white noise. Spent 3 very relaxing days here before going to Monterey. Driving around here was really no problem and great spot to see the LA and Santa Monica Area. Front desk was very helpful
The only thing I did not like(well sort was interesting) was the constant stream of people walking in the front sidewalk looking into the hotel front deck area but it is busy and that's beach life for you..

Room Tip: Pay more for an Ocean view for sure if available

We stayed in the suite which has a walk out patio, full kitchen and sleeps 6. Hotel is on quiet end of Venice boardwalk .Bagels, cereal, fruit ,coffee and tea each morning. There is a rooftop patio ,not real fancy but nice for people watching and sunsets.Todd the manager is wonderful! Restaurants and bars close by.We didn't have a car, however parking is free but limited.I would recommend the suite as we were able to heat leftovers etc.The oceanfront rooms are nice also, as we stayed in one last year. The Venice canals are a short walk away and are lovely.Cab ride to LAX 20.00 and 15 min ride.My daughter was able to drive us to many places, so if you wanted to see other areas Malibu ,Santa Monica a car would be in order.

Was pleasantly surprised by almost all aspects of this hotel. The view, the room and staff were all better than expected given recent experiences at other Venice Beach hotels.

Room was very clean and cozy. Had an amazing, undisturbed view of the ocean from my windows. Additionally, an added perk here is the rooftop deck which would make a great location for hanging out by the sunset.

Hotel is located on a rather 'subdued' portion of the Venice Beach Boardwalk, at least when compared to the area immediately surrounding the Venice Beach Freakshow for instance. All in all, good experience, would visit again!

Room Tip: I'd rather be in a 2nd floor room w/ ocean view!

I stayed with my friend last year for just over a week. The room was a good size. It was very clean and tidy. A fridge was also available. The bathroom was compact but had a clean toilet and powerful shower....Towels were also provided. The breakfast was a good selection of cereals, bagels, jams, butter, fruit, coffee, tea and juice. The breakfast could be eaten either in your room or on the balcony which gives fantastic views of the beach. If you like to people watch as I do then the balcony is perfect for it. Also this end of Venice beach is the quieter end, but if you want hustle and bustle you just need to walk a few minutes along the boardwalk where there are many tourist shops, Strong Men on display (which I found hilarious!) and other street entertainers. I haver to admit that I wasn't too impressed with the food locally and had to go further to get good food (I'm a big foodie!). The staff at the hotel were fabulous and really helpful. They allowed our luggage to be stored even after we checked out as we had some time before needing to catch our flight. The time of year we ravelled which was June meant that it got chilly at times where we stayed because as they say it was "june gloom" so it was very foggy which blocked the sun out on the beach. However when we went hiking in LA it was BOILING HOT and good fun..... Venice On The Beach Hotel is a great base to explore other parts of LA from.
