This hotel is another big bang for our buck. It had everything we needed as international tourists on a budget. It is quiet, but close enough to Hollywood. It is near the subway, Food for Less, and department stores. As in most mid-class hotels in the US, it does not offer concierge service, so we had to carry our bags to our room by ourselves. Our room was spacious, new, clean, and even had an elegant kitchen sink to complement the available microwave and refrigerator. Breakfast was filling and varied. The pool was clean. They offered airport transfers much cheaper than cab rates. Their coin laundry was the cheapest from all of the hotels we have stayed at in the USA. My only issue was that its coin laundry couldn’t be used between 9pm - 7am. We were informed that this was to prevent disturbing the guests billeted in rooms nearby. In most hotels I have been to, even in other countries, laundry rooms at 9pm are at their busiest because that is the time when tourists get back from a long day outdoors. Perhaps the Inn can do something about this. If we go to back to LA, we will definitely stay at this hotel again.

We had a very nice time at this hotel. The room was comfortable and the location was very nice. The Metro Red Line also made for quick transportation to the Hollywood walk of Fame.
The Manager, Mr Asha Ken was very helpful towards us, he went out of his way to ensure our stay was enjoyable. He also relocated us to a very nice room with a beautiful view overlooking the pool. Mr Asha also booked our tours over three days for us, he is very well informed and also gave us good discounts. Thumbs up to this hotel and the friendly staff!

Room Tip: Room 218 - if this room is free, it has a big balcony overlooking the pool.

My husband, 2 kids and I stayed for 4 nights at the Hollywwod City Inn. It is a simple hotel but has all the necessary things you may need. It is clean, bathroom with lots of shampoo and soap, hair dryer, TV, wifi... It is located one block away from the metro red line which takes you everywhere, so that is great too.
The best about this hotel is Mr. Asha Ken, the hotel's manager, who is incredibly helpful and kind!!

Both my wife and I booked this hotel through Expedia, and stayed at the Hollywood City Inn April 27 to April 29th, 2014. It is located at: Hollywood City Inn 1615 N Western Ave Los Angeles, CA 90027 Avoid this hotel at all costs. My wife and I were bitten by bedbugs at this hotel. The hotel staff was not accommodating, could not switch our rooms or help relocate us. They offered to two nights refund out of 3, but at that point we didn't care about getting our refund. Our vacation was already ruined and we want as many people to know about how horrible this place is. With no place to go and clothing we think were infested with bugs, we booked an immediate return flight home. The one staff member on duty did not believe us about the bed bugs and kept smiling and laughing at us despite my wife coming to tears. He would not give us the manager's name or phone number and refused to give us his name as well. If something like this were to happen to the guests of any hotel, the hotel staff and the manager should do everything in their power to see to the guest's peace of mind and to the guest's comfort. This was not the case. The room itself had a musty smell. Our key would not work on the door after 3 tries, and on the third night completely failed to work. There's nothing to see in the surrounding areas, and at night the area is sort of dangerous, with a lot of homeless people and mentally disturbed people walking the streets and arguing. The worst part is coming home and the fear of bringing the bugs back to your own home. We've isolated our clothing into plastic tubs, so that we can launder them later. Our bites have turned redder. Right now we're taking Benadryl and Cortizone, hoping that our bites won't scar, and trying to ignore the constant itchiness. I booked this place through Expedia, which gave it 3 1/2 stars. MISLEADING. I thought I was careful about booking a hotel without bugs, but I was wrong. Please do further research when booking a hotel. Do not rely on the reviews on just one website. Spend the extra money for a nicer place because a good peace of mind is priceless. Another big fear is that they have a photocopy of my driver's license and credit card info. I've never heard of a hotel keeping a photograph of your driver's license, and I'm afraid they'll abuse that information. But I feel it's better to get the information out about this hotel rather than any other risk.

We were welcomed by Ken who was very friendly and helped us book our tour. Ken managed to change our tour to the next day on short notice (30 minutes) at no charge. Great location, close to supermarket, pharmacy and train station which was very convenient! Breakfast was good too if you like donuts! Credits to Ken and all the staff there!

For the price and location, this motel was great! It's less than a block to Hollywood Blvd and about a 10-15 minute drive to the Walk of Fame & Hollywood/Highland. It's also very close to great views of the Hollywood sign which was my favorite part. Room was perfect for what we needed for our one night stay. Comfortable bed, hot shower and plenty of space. Pool is cute too but we didn't have a chance to use it. Only complaint is the hairdryer didn't work and no one ever came to fix it or bring another one. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you are looking for somewhere cheap, close to attractions and a great value. I would stay here again :)
