“Nice and comfortable”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 10, 2013

The rooms are renovated and clean, the staff is friendly and efficient. It is true that breakfast must be consumed in the swimming pool area, but the atmosphere is nice and relaxed. The hotel is located nearby Hollywood blv and it is one underground stop from beginning of walk of fame, two underground stops from chinese theater. The underground lines also brings to downtown at Union station. We used public transportation and city sightseeing buses and it resulted to be a good and safe location to reach back in the night after daily tours. It is worthwhile the money we spent

Room Tip: ask for a room that is not beaten down by the sun in the afternoon, or you'll have to keep air c...

Me, hubby and our 13 year old daughter stayed at this hotel for 4 nights in July 2013 during our travels around the West Coast and we really enjoyed our stay at this hotel.
The gentleman who checked us in was very pleasant and helpful, gave us a map and information about nearby places.
We then went to our room on the first floor (not sure if there is a lift but we used the stairs next to the pool area) and the room itself was lovely. Nice and spacious, clean too. The bathroom is a bit small but had everything we needed so we were happy.
The pool area looked lovely, although we never used this facility - ran out of time!
Breakfast consisted of cereal, coffee and doughnuts which was fine for us and after reading the reviews we were pleasantly surprised with the selection. There isn't a dining area but there are tables and chairs around the pool to use, we just went back to our room and ate there though.
Our rooms were tidied throughout our stay and we found the cleaning staff to be very polite and friendly.
My hubby mentioned the noise of the traffic one night, woke him up a few times but this isn't the hotel's fault and I slept perfectly fine *lol*
During our stay we took a stroll along Hollywood Boulevard (takes about 20-30mins from hotel) to get to the strip, we visited Universal Studios (10mins by car), Malibu & Venice Beach (about 30mins by car) and we also drove to San Diego Zoo (2.5hours by car). We were told there is a Metro station just up the road but as we had the car we never used that service. You can also see the Hollywood sign in the distance so we found the location of the hotel perfect.
Thank you for a lovely stay - We would stay here again and would recommend it to family and friends.

This hotel is very close to the metro station (Western Hollywood). You can go to Universal Studios and others attractions by metro. This is a very positive point of the hotel. Staffs are friendly, rooms are big and clean. The breakfast has Donuts.

Booked this hotel at the last moment as other hotels were booked and I was not sure about the reviews it had on tripadvisor...From the moment we arrived I thought this looks ok , the book in was fine and the maintance man carried our bags to our room , not a bad start .The hotel is clean has a lovely pool ( 9Ft deep) and a washer and tumble dryer on site for 25 cents a shot .
The rooms are clean and spacious and modern and have great tv channels .All in all a great way to spend 6 nights in Hollywood the hotel is in a great location and near to everything , give it a shot as I could not fault it .Great friendly staff .......

We stayed a week in a king sized room, very spacious and clean, not noisy
Fridge and micro wave are provided, although the room smells like mold , carpet should be replaced
Staff is friendly and professional
But to be honest you get what you paid for!
Good distance from Hollywood blv, Walgreen...
I would recommend the place for couple of days.

Believe me there will seldom be a hotel this "amazing". The room smells stale yet somehow this hotel ranks among people's favorites. The staff is rude and often leaves the door open from the outside as if to give an open invite to anyone to rob tourists of their belongings. On confronting the "friendly" staff, one is often told of the splendid logic that since nothing has happened here before there is no need to put a lock on the front door or even attempt to comfort the customer or resident. Did you feel unsafe here? Gosh, you must be nuts because this is an ahem, beacon of safety.

The cereal they have in their 'continental breakfast" looks like it hasn't been replaced since the past hundred years. On being quizzed on their definition of continental, one can discover the defensive attitude of the manager that doesn't care a damn about what is going on and simply requests that you talk to the owners.Essentially you stay here at your own risk. Your passports and valuables are not their responsibility. The bathrooms have soaps that smell bad and are in packets. The bedsheets feel dirty, and the pillows are worse than a deflated balloon. The only plus is the fridge the ac and the microwave. It is sad that such hotels..er motels..mislead their customers where the clear goal is to mint money of hapless tourists and convince them that they are getting value for their money. The surrounding area is horrendous and isn't really Hollywood, and feels weird at night. Please avoid, or fall for some shrewd marketing and misleading information!
