This is a long time successful steakhouse. The steaks are very good and there is a good variety of selections if you're not in the mood for steaks.

I reserved a table in the lounge on a Friday night and had an amazing experience at the Buggy Whip. The piano player is great, good voice, good skills, and great sense of humor; the man knows how to play the room. The food is pricy for the quality but the service is memorable if not exactly fast. The place is an institution and the staff reflect that fact.

All that being said we had the best time. We sang along with the music, laughed for the whole meal, and truly felt we had stepped back in time to a Vegas casino; the rat pack could have walked in at any moment. Definitely a place to go with friends!

Tired of going to the big steakhouses and getting one piece of meat in a big plate, and paying extra for everything else? Then you're missing great value and great taste that used to be the norm. Filet Mignon, 20-22 OZ. Delmonico, 18 ounce New Yorker, 22 ounce Top Sirloin, or lobster and seafood, are all served with salad (with the famous Green Goddess dressing), and an assortment of vegetables and choice of potatoes. Yum!! Talk about value for your dining dollars!!

A Los Angeles icon, the Buggy Whip has been a neighborhood steakhouse for decades. The food is good, not great. Prices are reasonable. Service is, well, like mom...only with a bit more attitude. I've been here twice and, believe it or now, I will probably return. There is just something about this place that makes you want to come back. It's like going to your crazy aunt's house: You're not sure why you like it, but keep getting in the car when mom and dad tell you to!

Was in LA for a Conference and 8 of us ate at the Buggy Whip last week. It was a less than memorable evening, the food was quite lackluster, the steaks not the quality nor the size as advertised, the service was poor with one very surly waitress that has been there forever, kind of Nurse Ratchett with an apron. Plus they refused to accommodate our group by doing something as simple as separate checks. Honestly, my steak at the Sizzler down the street was better than at this place.

It was also the little things, like not refilling water and iced tea, bringing 7 of the 8 salads and no followup and then giving me attitude when I asked where my salad was. It is as if the owner and his family have been there long enough that they deem them selves an institution which the place might be, it still has to care about its food and service and keep up with reasonable customer service standards, no more no less.
