This restaurant is part of the Patina group and is very conveniently located near the Music Center and the Disney Hall. We were very satisfied with our meals, as usual. My sea bass was particularly good. The service was very good, as usual. We've eaten many times at Kendall's. This was the first time we ate in the brasserie room and I liked it a bit less than the dining room. Except for than everything was very satisfactory.

Kendalls has a great location. It's in a terrific spot to eat before or after a show at Disney Hall or the Music Center. Given the location, they don't lack for customers.

What they do lack is 1) good food and 2) good service. Last night we ordered two salads, two soups, and two glasses of wine. The bill for $80 would have been okay had the food or service merited the pricing.

Perhaps we ordered poorly--but I would hope that a French restaurant could serve an onion soup with flavor. The cheese tasted more like mozzarella, and there was no toasted bread included, just a soggy piece of something. Again, no flavor in the actual soup.

My date's salad came without dressing; after asking, it took 10 minutes (and a second request) for the server to bring it. This 10 minute delay was unfortunate as our timing was tight to get to our show (and we had told him this at the outset).

I asked for goat cheese instead of bleu cheese on my salad (and was charged extra) but when it came it was bleu.

Bottom line? Great location if you don't mind sketchy service and bland food.

Kendalls enjoys a great location under the Los Angeles Opera House. This allows it to serve mediocre food at high prices. The only reason to eat there is convenience when attending an event at the Theatre Center or at Disney Hall (many people certainly value this as the restaurant was packed and was only taking customers with reservations). Good service.

Only called in for a drink, extensive wine list by the glass, very quiet but good service, did not eat here so cannot comment on the food.

My sister and I had dinner here before the LA Phil concert. We did not have a reservation and were seated on the patio. It was a lovely evening, so patio dining was fine. If the weather is bad, be sure to make a reservation well in advance as this is a popular spot before concerts, operas, and plays. Service was quick and well done. They understand about getting to concerts on time. The short ribe were excellent. They should have a few more vegetables on the side.
