This place is an absolute gem. Intimate, family owned/family run. Excellent food, be it spicy or not; it's all delectable. Friendly, attentive service. Extensive wine list. Order your appetizers, main meal, and sides separately. Sides are decent size to share with dining partner. Reservations highly recommended.

We were in LA for the Rose Parade I decided that this was the place to try Thai food. I had had it in Bangkok and the Midwest. Bangkok was decidedly better. So we Ubered from S Monica Pier $17. Surge of course.

Service lovely this seemed to be a neighborhood place. We ordered 2 apps and split the whole fish. Food beautiful and delicious I'm just not a tiny tastes person. Fish a lot of work even though our perfect server deboned it for us. Every other table happily tucking into their food. I should of ordered the pad Thai it looked wonderful gliding by us in the hands of the perfect servers.

Portions is good, taste is a bit too sweet and not spicy enough, service is good and environment is not Thai style, in a more simple US restaurant type...

We were searching for a restaurant that was open by 5:15pm for dinner on Sunday. It also had to be close to the Saban Theatre and not overly expensive. My husband found Si Laa Thai on Yelp and it was perfect. I ordered the Hidden Treasure appetizer and the short ribs. Excellent! So much flavor. Our friends ordered the Sa-Tay and the Hot Basil Chicken. Also very tasty. By 5:30, the restaurant was full so reservations might be a good idea. We will definitely return.

We live in Venice, but wanted to try more Thai food. Si Laa Thai is highly rated by TripAdvisor but invisible from the usual top thai restaurant lists. Why? Because the place is small, family run, probably does not have PR consultant!

We had the eggplant vegetable side dish, the short ribs mains, and the spicy noodle mains (w chicken substituted for short ribs). All were nothing short of phenomenal !

Looks like the pot stickers are the bomb here - we are the only folks who did not order.

I'm still depressed because I'll never in my lifetime make eggplant as good as Si Laa Thai .Gracious service, reasonably priced wine list. Book ahead - it's a small place.
