“a pleasant dine la”
Reviewed February 2, 2014

the portions were very generous. The beet, orange, feta salad was creative and nicely dressed. The boeuf Bourguignon was cooked very intensely to almost black--the classic preparation I think.

Staff very attentive
the chocolate souffle was just ok, and they brought the whip cream on same plate so it was warm, too bad as the cold whip cream with the pear tart was truly delicious

Never a bad meal. French bistro, great specials, love the steak tartar. Highly recommend!

FYI for people who freak out about it, it can be loud in there

“Dressed up and fun in old school Sherman Oaks”
Reviewed November 26, 2013 via mobile

Food-5 service-5 atmosphere-4

The tomatoes were 100% ripe and this was in the late fall. Most restaurants can't get this right in the summer. The ahi tuna nicoise salad had big rare pieces on it that were huge for a lucks lunch.

The service wore ties and bow ties were very well trained and were happy to have you in their service rather than making you feel lucky to be there.

It looks like an old school LA upscale bar restaurant. great place to go to be treated as a regular. There were about three different tables that you could tell were long time loyal customers. Great place to go for an old fashioned cocktail and a great meal.

“Pricey but worth it”
Reviewed October 13, 2013 via mobile

Very good food and service. Much better steaks than the well known steak houses. Known for great fries. Limited but wll rounded menu. Even though it is a bit pricey, especially for the valley, I left feeling I had an excellent meal and enjoyed the evening. Unlike many noted restaurants in LA that cater to industry people and treat us "commoners" like they are doing us a favor allowing us in, this restaurant gave us the felling that they were working hard to make sure the cooking and service was first class. This french bistro is an attractive room. The only draw back, is it tends to be very loud.

“A NYC Vibe”
Reviewed October 6, 2013

This restaurant has a very NYC vibe. The bar, the wood, the intimate dining room, and especially the attire and style of the old school servers - it all seems like those small restaurants in New York City that the west side locals favor. Very much like the style and classy atmosphere, once you walk in the door you forget that you are on Ventura Blvd. The servers are polished professionals, attentive. The food is excellent, very nice salads that are large enough to share. Quality steaks that are prepared perfectly to order. The lamb is excellent too. This is one of our favorite restaurants along Ventura Blvd. It is expensive but certainly not overpriced. We have dined here for lunch and dinner, always excellent service and an overall wonderful dining experience.
