“Retro Chinese at its best”
Reviewed January 1, 2014 via mobile

Where do you go in L.A.for dependable Chinese food from a menu that looks like it hasn't changed since the Eisenhower administration? Of course: the historically Jewish neighborhood of Pico-Robertson. Chinese-American classics done well. The only thing missing is "Choose one from column A and two from column B."

“We Love Fu's Palace”
Reviewed June 9, 2012

We absolutely love Fu’s Palace and our family has been eating here for years. Whenever we travel and have Chinese food, this is the food we compare everything to – and most of them do not measure up. Fu’s’ sauces are NOT swimming in cornstarch like so many other Chinese restaurants. They give nice sized portions and you can see the chicken or meat or fish in a dish – there aren’t just a few little pieces thrown in. And the food is delicious. Nothing too salty or greasy. We especially love their orange chicken and chicken chow mein with soft noodles.

There is a nice back room for private parties and there is plenty of parking in the back of the restaurant.

Margaret and Gary are so nice. They always stop by our table to chat and ask how we are. When Margaret found out that our mother had passed away, she actually started to cry.

We don’t live in the neighborhood anymore but when we are in the area we always come here for dinner. We think it’s the best.

If you want a good meal, big servings, and some retro vibe, this place could be a movie set! Charming if you're staying in the hood.

“Not happy at all”
Reviewed April 8, 2009

The food was cheap but not tasty at all. The dumplings were greasy. The garlic shrimps were good but that what I feel caused an upset stomach the next day. :(
