This was our first visit to Boardwalk 11, and we were very pleased with both the food and service.

Both my wife and I ordered hamburgers with side salads and both were prepared to our specifications. We both ordered Honey Mustard dressing for the salads and found it to be very spicy. When we brought this to the attention of the server, new salads with a different dressing were prepared. We could not have asked for better service.

The restaurant was preparing for a big event that evening, but they still took the time to explain about the different beers they serve. Unfortunately, we don’t consume alcohol beverages, but the explanation was interesting.

We would definitely return to this establishment and enjoy another great meal.

If you want to sing Karaoke, and sound as good as you possibly can, this is your joint. The place is no dive; it's well appointed, has a well stocked bar with good prices, a full menu (the hummus and pita are excellent), and a great bunch of regulars that make it feel like the neighborhood bar that is is. Dan and Kat behind the bar are attentive and personable, and Sam the doorman is as stoic as you might expect, but a good guy who'll actually engage you in a pleasant conversation if you try. Kevin Race, the karaoke host, is unique amongst the KJs I've seen around town. First, the song catalog is immense. You'll find favorites, but you'll find some serious deep cut treasures as well. Second, he leverages his encyclopedic knowledge of "where are they now" (gleaned from his work on his Internet radio station AlumniRadio.net) by playing interstitial video clips of *new material* from "used to be famous" artists and bands. Once you get the conceit, it's a treat to try to figure out who the performers are. Third, he helps out just enough, not too much, and in all the right places with a really good voice. And fourth, he's an upbeat, friendly guy who seems to genuinely enjoy what he's doing. The sound system is outstanding; best sounding setup I've heard or sung into on the West Side. Video monitors are mounted high over the crowd, so you're not looking down the whole time trying to read the words, but can focus on the audience, as a good performer should. The crowd is usually a mix of folks, some serious karaoke artists (yes, some real ringers show up here), some regulars who milk their talents for all they're worth, and large parties of folks out to try singing as a goof. It's not unusual to see folks hit the dance floor when one of their favorite tracks is selected, and I've never seen a singer leave the stage without receiving applause from the crowd, no matter how off-key or uncomfortable the performance might have been. It can get crowded on weekend nights, and sometimes if you show up at 9:30 you might get one song in before midnight, but you simply can't beat the place for ambiance, selection, staff, and quality sound.
