We booked Hollywood jewel, but on arrival it soon became clear we were not put in the property we had booked. Photo were different and we had no balcony, kitchen was not separate after checking the pictures online I found out we had been put in Hollywood Star.
This property as the tittle suggests is not a star. Being on the ground floor and end property it was dark and gloomy, we had to have the lights on.
The stairs to the above property go over the bedroom and you can hear everyone going up over the stairs at all hours. Which is even more frustrating when you didn't book the particular property. When I informed the management company, my emails were completely ignored!
Several problems with the property included, lack of cutlery, just one pillow each no hair dryer or kettle, broken blinds and the sound on the TV was not right making it difficult to watch. After an email to management company these were provided the next day except for the kettle which took another couple of days. ( felt like a bit of a nag) blinds were fixed, but sadly the TV was not.
The property needs updating, kitchen cupboards were nasty and the bathroom cupboard doors don't stay closed. Light bulbs missing in the bathroom, not Eco bulbs as advertised.
Good points- location is great for attractions centrally located and near to Griffith park, and the walk of fame. Supermarket in walking distance, just remember to pick up a Vons card to make use of the discounts. But not the most pleasant of areas.
Washer dryer very useful, as the 6 towels won't last 2 weeks with a family of 4
If your into music, even better as so do the neighbours as there in a band and like to practice! Front window of the property does not close properly so all the better for hearing the band!
Improvements could be made to make this a better property, extra lighting in the kitchen, bed side lamps would be nice and the second bedroom could do with bedside table, it was a bit stark with just two beds and a chest of draws, mirror in the bedroom, fix the tv and window. Local information and maps would have been nice, we did leave some for the next occupants.
