I was sent to this place by concierge from the nearby Ritz Carlton. The place was crowded for dinner and I could only get a stool at the bar. The bartender was exceptional -- friendly, suggestive and quick in delivering drinks and food. The bar has friendly atmosphere and many visitors seem to be locals frequenting the place. I had steak which was tasty. The selection of wine is reasonable. Overall, a reasonable place to have a bite in the evening and chat with locals, but nothing fancy.

You can park behind the buildings; parking on Abbot Kinney is like winning the lottery. This is a great, local hang that has a wonderful staff, good food fun cocktails and a lunch, bar and dinner menu. Recommend the Turkey Burger and Fries....great beer selection.

First you have to find partaking, an ever precious resource in and around Abbot Kinney... and once you get seated, service is either slow, or relaxed, depending on your opinion. But Hal's is worth the wait- the food is excellent. Our waiter was quite knowledgeable and accommodating and the meals were all very good. The duck was a pleasant surprise and the sashimi appetizer was a great blend of flavors. Definitely worth going to Hal's if in the area.

I have had an event at Hal's in the Hideaway Room for the last 4 years. Don't let the cheesy name of Hideaway fool you! Upstairs it is away from the noise and hustle and bustle of the main dining level. My dinner was for 20 people, with a wonderful selection on the menu, great prices and service.

They are flexible in the menu selection and willing to make adjustments. They are thoughtful about their follow up as well. Service is great, the waiters knew when we were engaged in conversation and were not in our faces to finish. We were encouraged to linger after the meal was finished if guests still want to chat and have drinks.

Parking, as always, an issue on abbot Kinney but they do have Valet. The room is open and airy with fun art to look at. Which is a good thing because the service is slowwwww!
Even though the food is kind of worth the wait don't come hungry.
