Ate at the Irvine, CA location. What a popular place! Line up was out the door but so worth the wait. The food was tasty and plentiful...we were stuffed! A great value and great service.

We ordered few different kinds of Tofu soups. it's about $7+ for soups and $13+ for combos which consist of soup and rice or noodle dish. Prices are very resonable and food is good. Side dish are just okay. They serve you eggs with soups, crack it open while your soup is hot and put it in (something that wasn't explained to us).. This place is a chain.

My wife and I ate here while visiting family in California. She's Korean by background, and living in St Louis means that good Korean food is hard to come by and/or means we need to make a trip to Chicago. So when we went to SoCal to visit her grandparents and uncles, she jumped at the chance to stock up on Korean food. One of the meals she was craving was soondubu jjigae (i.e. Korean tofu stew). This is a bit less elaborate meal than going to a korean barbeque place for bulgogi or galbi, so it was a nice change of pace for us to eat Korean in a bit more casual atmosphere. I will also surprised to find that this restaurant has actually eveolved into a small chain, with locations around LA, NYC, and even been exported back to Seoul. Anyway, the food was excellent and extremely well priced (by themselves the stews cost $7-8ish, and under $15 in a combo meal with an entree food like pipimbap, galbi, or bulgogi). The restaurant also doesn't skimp on the ponchon (the assortment of appetizers served in small bowls and eaten family style by everyone at the table). There's a pretty wide assortment of menu items, none of which should be overly threatening to a Korean food novice while still giving your Korean friend something they'll appreciate. Plus, if your only experience with Korean food is some bulgogi or such, you owe it to yourself to try something yummily different.

If you like tofu in Korean cuisine, then be sure to try this
place. My friend had fried Corvina and I had the BBQ
short ribs--both fantastic. The small dishes that came as
part of our order included kimchee, clam kimchee, seaweed
& sesame salad and pickle chips. The service was friendly
and helpful in making selections and be sure to
put your hunger on before you come here. Great food and
a great experience in asian cuisine. Go Korean Food!!

Amazing Tofu Pots, authentic Korean food service and delicious Kimchi. Not a fan of the losing the last bit of rice by servers pouring hot water into the rice bowl, but I guess can't take the good without the bad.
