New jazz club opened in Venice this yr. The talent is !st class!! ( Azar Lawrence, Theo Saunders, Henry Franklin). If u like straight ahead jazz, you'll enjoy it. $15 cover charge. Limited # but good wines. There is also a nice patio outside of the main club. They don't serve food, but will allow u to bring in outside food.
This club obviously has growing pains. Service is OK. There were reserved seats close to stage, which no one filled. Would be best to release them close to showtime for those who actually showed up.
I think this club will only get better w/ time. They are really trying and the entertainment is GREAT!. Strongly recommend giving them a shot.

Couple of weeks ago, went to this new club RG jazz club to hear Azar Lawrence and his group. The music was great , the room needs some work. My understanding is eventually they will serve food but at the present, that is not the case. My wife asked for tea which is not to hard to manage but they could not deliver any. There was no way to get any hot beverages. She needed to go across the street to a Chinese joint to get tea.
Back to the music. All seats are good, sound needed some work, the balance was off and the sound tech. kept adjusting the mix. I was sitting right in front to the left of the stage, so maybe that had something to do with it. Will give them the benefit of the doubt.
Still, overall , I am very glad there is another jazz joint in LA. Hopefully, it will be supported and given a chance to grow.

Thank Frank G
