It's hard to find good Indian food in Los Angeles. Of the five or so decent restaurants none could be described as 'gourmet' - so, if you love fine and authentic Indian food, LA is a challenge.
Bollywood Cafe consistently manages to turn out an acceptable Indian meal. It's a small little place on the border between Universal City and Studio City. Excellent and friendly service. A very professionally run restaurant.
The Tikka Masala and the Korma dishes are good and hot. Pilau rice just right. All the correct condiments. As good a Peshwari Naan as you'll find anywhere. Prices are moderate, and the atmosphere in the small room is usually subdued and warm.
They have a thriving 'take-out' business, so if you're staying in the area they're a good choice for a hearty meal to go. Service both in the restaurant and 'to go' is super quick.
